Pique? Lol.
My opinion of him is that for years now he has been fairly average but he is an invaluable asset for commercial reasons and that has enabled him to be a long term fixture in both United/England first teams, rob United blind over contracts/wages and steadily become top scorer for both.
Not many players get the privilege of being irreplaceable due to commercial reasons, like Rooney has enjoyed.

Look at the comments from the man u lot when Pique left and he has exceeded them by far, wasnt Jonny Evans suppose to be head and shoulders above him? lol
From that list I would say Nuer, Ronaldo and Messi are unquestionably WC, Kroos if he carries on developing will be. Haven't watched enough of Hummels to say whether he is, looks very very accomplished whenever I see him (WC, friendlies and CL), Ramos and Pique are both solid enough, would have them in the top 10 CB's in world football _ Hummels is probably better though imo.

lol, firstly Aguero didn't start every game BECAUSE HE WAS INJURED.
When Ronaldo(fat one) knee ligaments went and he wasn't playing he was a terrible player, not just injured or anything.
Second, Pique... Pique is currently struggling to hold down his first team spot at Barca, he's a woeful defender, he has always been woeful. He managed to get in a team because for barca their defence wasn't under a lot of pressure when their offence/midfield utterly dominated. Since the midfield has gotten older and less dominant the defence has been under more pressure and Pique has been exposed for the pretty poor defender that he is.
Neuer, Ronaldo and Messi.
They're head and shoulders above their competition.
I'm not drawn into the hype of Hummels, he didn't look that good in the WC.
Suarez is not to be forgotten about, He was the closest thing to the top three last season.
If I was to pick a defender in a dream team it would be Kompany, the man is just an absolute beast.
Silva, Aguero, Toure, Di Maria, Bale, Lahm, Fabregas, Kroos, Muller, Robben, Lewandowski, Vidal, Costa, Hazard, Neymar are all of the same hype but aren't WC.

and Messi despite mostly being dangerous from freekicks, looking barely involved for 80% of every game was named player of the world cup... no one with half a brain agrees with that, he wasn't even in the top 20 players.
The massive majority of team of the year, player of the tournament, player of the season awards are popularity votes, nothing more or less. There are frequently crap players on these lists and top top players are left off them for the same reasons. They are meaningless, always have been, that doesn't mean some players don't get the awards they do deserve, but frequently players get awards they don't deserve.
As previous post, in a 4 year period where Barca destroyed everyone and the defence was under the least pressure of any defence in the world, Pique became associated with a great team without ever actually performing as a great defender, since that team is less dominant and the defence is under more pressure he's basically losing his first team spot now, deservedly, because he's rubbish.

I considered Suarez, but he hasn't delivered on the big stage yet. Bale went to Madrid and delivered, so the jury is still out on Suarez for me.
There is no better central midfield player in the world than Kroos, so for that reason I consider him to be world class. I would agree with Kompany, he is definitely world class for his position. Silva rarely gets a game for spain, he's not in the same league as Iniesta and Xavia were. Robben and Ribery are world class too. Lewandowski, Vidal, Costa, Hazard and Neymar have a long way to go to be world class in their positions. Of them all Neymar is probably more likely to get there.
Silva plays for Spain whenever he's fit and probably contributes as much as Xavi and Iniesta did/do!
Kroos isn't a complete midfielder, he's a Schweingstiger in the making, plays it simple, nothing stupid. Doesn't take many risks and is always playing in amazing team (Bayern, Germany, RM)

Kroos makes it look simple, but he has bundles of class and talent.
Ever since Scholes retired all I've heard about is how amazing he was both from MUFC fans and also fellow players. I've got to be honest, whenever I watched him when I was growing up I never saw it. He didn't catch the headlines that the likes of Beckham etc got. But looking back on it, he was World Class without doubt. He dictated the game, he made it look effortless. Very much in the same way Kroos does. Just focus on his play the next time you watch RM, he's different class.

I came to say this, just because Neuer is a keeper he gets forgotten about, he's the best keeper in the world by a country mile.
It wouldn't surprise me if he'd be a very highly rated defender if given the chance, his reading of play is phenomenal.
Ronaldo and Messi are both freaks the number of goals they score is ridiculous.
Rooney is one of those almost players, he doesn't do it at the highest level often enough, he has the ability but it's like he doesn't want to push himself. In his early days at United and for England, he could have challenged Ronaldo / Messi, he's just fell short.
Not really, the problem is he's that consistent that when he does mess up it's scrutinised massively...a bit like when Rooney has a bad game. He messed up against Liverpool last year with a bad clearance and got sent off against Hull, I think people were then writing him off. City are woeful without him.

Yeah small game player. Didn't score a hat trick on his utd debut which was also his CL debut.
never scored in a champions league final etc.
what you need to understand is that after ronaldo and tevez left we had no more great players. Except aging ones. ..
so everything he has achieved is in spite of our squad not because of it...
