My opinion on Wayne Rooney

Ronaldo has turned into the ultimate poacher, I just dont like his style of play any more. His goal scoring record is unquestionable but from i have seen of him he only shows up in glimpses when he plays against good opposition.

Suarez for example is constantly running around the final third terrorising defenders and causing them all sorts of trouble. The whole team is built around Ronaldo to score goals he has a free reign doesn't need to track back and gets quality service for his goals.

Messi is having to create his own goals for Barca since their midfield is not what it used to be. He has to drop deep to pick up the ball and start attacks.

Ronaldo doesn't need to do any of that he gets in good positions to score and when given a chance he will take it. I just dont like his style of play.

Robben is one of my favourite players and i love the way he plays, up and down the wing attacking or defending he will run for 90 minutes he is a joy to watch.

I also dont agree with Ronaldo being killer at set pieces, he is a good penalty takes but he has really been poor at free kicks in the last couple of seasons. I would love to see his conversion rate it must be a lot lower than some of the other free kick takers around.

Rooney has to drop back just to get the ball. Look up how many assists our midfield got in the last couple of seasons. That's why rooney didn't get more goals. Not because he was scuffing a load of chances like torres

Robben doesn't defend.

Robben and team player in the same sentence :D

Easy.

'Robben has never been anywhere near a team player'.

Actually Robben is a team player, he drops back not because the midfield sucks but to create space for other players and make himself available for a pass. It's how Bayern Munich work probably the best team at keeping possession, Guardiola clearly carrying on his strategy ;)

As for the comment about Ronaldo by lucarocks92, I have to agree unfortunately.. he was a great player at Manchester United scoring screamers, making runs etc now all he seems to do is put boring goals in which is fair enough as strikers are there to score and he's one of the best at doing it.

As for Aguero he's definitely "world class" which is subjective, but every time I watch him you know he's going to score whether it's past Neuer or not, just a class act brilliant dribbling, speed and finishing, all the qualities of a perfect striker imo.

horrible video in as much as like most football videos it has shocking music and too many replays.

But again anyone saying Ronaldo is the ultimate poacher or scores boring goals is talking utter utter crap. I seriously doubt anyone scores as many from outside the box, very few players take on multiple players or have so many touches before shooting, very few get the ball as deep as he does, beats 1-3 players running 40 yards before shooting.

Boring, utter, utter, utter drivel. I love Messi as a player but based on his style the massive majority of his finishes come from within 10 yards of goal and while he is very often involved in the build up and 1-2's, he usually receives the ball and takes 1-2 touches before scoring max at the end of a move. He's a fantastic, ridiculous finisher but his goals have at no stage been as consistently varied as Ronaldo, he rarely scores from outside the box, excluding freekicks it's almost never, he rarely scores things like backheel passes or the more spectacular goals that Ibra or Ronaldo score.

Two of the most exciting goal scorers in football history are Ibra and Ronaldo.

What should be kept in mind is, if you score 20 in a season and 10 are tap ins, 10 are brilliant.... if you score 70 in a season the same ratio would be 35 tap ins and 35 screamers... seeing more simple goals than when he was at Utd in no way indicates that he scores only simple goals nor that simple is boring always. Even his goals from 6 yards, he scored one of the best mid air back heel goals(ibra's even higher one looped into the corner was better) I can recall and another back heel in the same season, less spectacular but still much more so than a simple and boring goal.
