My Silverstone Fortress Build

well i'd sourced them from elsewhere in the end only to be told by origional company that they'd also sent two out yesterday after i'd requested a refund.

they are being good and said if i return them they'll refund me.

but yes now having them here at work is a relief as that Zalman on the TRUE is good for nothing. Very poor fan.

Updated pics. Hope you like them.

Xigmateks and Noctua installed.

how are the 6gb Patriot Viper working for you?

yeah they're working extremely well. Setup the XMP profile and instantly running @ 1600mhz @1.64v

WOW!
Any night pics of the window with the led fans all lit up, i assume those are led fans...
Either way, some updated window pics would be nice.

i'll take some pictures later and post them up.
It does look fantastic all lit up in the dark

i thought exactly the same and had never spent so much on one but when you've got quality inside you want to put quality on the outside. For me it was £130 well spent. Seriously you wont regret it

Whats it like noise wise?

well i have the two 180mm fans on full + 3 Xigmateks on Full and a Noctua on Full.

So with 6 fans and my GC fan there is a very low hum and thats it. most of that noise can be controlled with my Zalman but i stick it up high when playing games etc. Plus my GC is @ 45% so is starting to make a noise too but nothing to complain about thats for sure

How is that 650 watt coping?

It's running a dream. Although i don't know how to test exactly how much power my machine is using.

Looking good there Magic, nice setup with the crossfire and all. How do you rate the Patriot RAM? I'm thinking of going i7 and wondered that you don't see many sets supporting XMP which yours does I think? I've found some elsewhere but not sure if it's worth paying the extra postage from another site so would appreciate any insight's you'd care to share about them! Cheers m8:)

as this is the only set of ram i've used all i can say is it's a doddle to setup. Straight into bios, XMP setup and instantly @ 1600mhz 8,8,8,24.

Speed wise it's very responsive.

I ended up buying the same case and PSU as you, tiny problem, i tried installing the PSU and its very tight fit, that bit of foam strip seems to be in the way? but yours seems to be fine... or is it the same?

yes it is very tight but as Diggsy said it's to stop vibration. Just a gentle pursuation to the metal (lift it slightly) and it'll slide in no trouble.

Question

I'm thinking of adding another fan to my system. Between the HDD cage and the 5½ Bays so that it site in front of the 180mm fan and directs more air at my graphics cards.

has anyone else done similar and would it be worth it?
