My thermal flask test thread.

camping kettle + tea light wins everytime.

combine it with something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Raclette-Foldable-Non-Stick-Tealight-tealights/dp/B082WDB5XS

you could probably cook a burger on that bro... you can get ones for chocolate too.

why use a flask you can buy the things you need to boil liquid and cook food for the same price and it's more fun

Maybe he wants to put something hot in the flask and eat it still hot hours later.

Oh wow, that is expensive! I suppose I should have added, I just want something for my wife to store her soup in for lunch. Best flask under £10 would be a better question. High capacity not required.

Can’t help you with that, but the Chilly bottle I bought for my wife was dearer than that, plus £10 to engrave her name.
To paraphrase the commercial, she’s worth it.

I can’t believe I’ve finally felt the need to use this thread. Without learning everything about flasks, which had the best cost to performance ratio?

The best bang for buck flask i tested was this and will keep your liquid hot for up to 12 hours which i tested > https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000TAOWC8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

£12 for 1 litre and £10.49 for the 500ml one,

Or a thermos food flask, which was recommended.

Despite being cheap, it really was the best bang for your money (ThermoCafé Stainless Steel Flask, 1.0 L).

It's literally to take soup to work with. She won't be cooking with a camping kettle at her desk :D

So is there not a microwave where she works she can stick it in a bowl and heat it up? I'm assuming she's working in an office and not herding sheep in a field.

Which recently did a test and out of the flasks they tested the Thermos Stainless King Flask came out top and the Stanley Classic Vacuum Flask came second

Anyone happen know what the top results were for this test? Would save me trawling through the which? magazines at the local library again.

Amazing, thanks very much, Dan!

for soup having a squat wide neck flask is useful to get a spoon in and for cleaning - minestrone, tomato make a mess => thermos king. -
was contemplating one of these for porridge.

I have a Thermos one rebranded by Ted Baker (birthday gift ages ago) that I used on bike rides when the temps were basically zero degrees outside. After an hour of riding along the sea the tea was still hot and the flask was on the bike frame the whole time. To me that was a test of a true flask and it held up well.

Tea is my energy on bike rides :D

Narrow neck makes it hard to clean though without a scouring stick brush thing.
