My Water Cooling Log Bikerz

Right its all going well. VERY cool, from about 28-30 degrees on idel on my thermalright 120 ultra to about 21 degrees idel on water with hardley any fans on yet.lol

Noiser than I wanted, no quiter than my air setup. And casea real mess, need a bigger case or drill back of mobo tray. VERY HAPPY tho. Thanks sooo much Alex.

No problem, look forward to the pics once all your cables are are sorted.

The next stage has to be a *cough* a little over clock ;)

Lol - sorry I was actually working :P.

Anyway - Mekrel is correct. You could also look on the Alphacool top itself, the new ones have the inlet 'I' and outlet 'O' engraved on the tops, the optiontional hole on the top can also act as an inlet instead of the one on the side. Guess you have an older one. Great to hear its coming together well. If you want to cut down on noise you can easily mod the fans from 12v to 7v or even easier, stick them on a fan controller.

Some pics of the build progress would be nice:)

Yeah they on a Zalman 2 W3bbo. I need extenders tho. Ive just brought a new HUGE case. So will fit it in that I think as its sooo messy in my Antec 900. Ive got some pine wood from worth that matches my pc desk and may make a radbox out of it to house res and rad and maybe even pump. I wont put picks up as you would hate to see how messy it is. This was my 1st go so just wanted to see what was involved. il make a good job in my new case (I hope)

I have a Asus P5KC mobo, any help on OC it? I know I should read up, which I have done, but I cant find the mem divider to set to 1:1 and cant find PCI Freq etc... Is there a guide on how to overclock a Asus P5KC mobo or a Asus P5K mobo at least?

Cheers

What fan controller is on the front ?

whoops im blind :)
One question that I havent asked anyone yet though!

When you're filling everything up, do you fill the rad/res and tubing all up or only a certain amount?
Just wondering as I only ordered 1L of liquid

Fill the system completely to its maximum fluid capacity before turning the system on.

The system would need to be bled of excess air, requiring fluid top up. Also a couple of days later after running in the system you may need to top up the system again.

1Ltr should be enough but that would depend on the length, no of loops and the size of tubing ie 3/8 or 1/2. Although res capacity and size of rad will also need to be taken in to consideration.

I tend to order 2 liters to cover any eventually of falling short. Always good to keep a bottle stashed just in case of any unforeseeable circumstances that may arise ;)

from initial results it looks 1-2c better than a bowed fuzion with nozzle, but only a couple of ppl have the block so far.

not worth the hassle unless you're buying a new block.

Any real reason for using the top as the res inlet instead of the bottom?

Using the top restricts opening up the res unless you loosen the clamp and spin the tubing round as you unscrew it. Also as shown in the photo creates bubbles as the water incoming hits the water inside over the air gap.
If these bubbles get pulled around the loop you will never fully bleed all the air from inside.

Using the bottom inlet you will be able to run with the top open if the flow inside the res isn't too turbulent and top-up much much easier.

Not sure which way up the rad is but if the barbs are at the top it will self bleed, otherwise you will need to release the air using the bleed screw.

Failed again after 2 min. Its fine on just CPU, but if u do blend (cpu and ram) it fails, due to rounding error of 0.5 when expects less than 0.4. whats wrong? PC runs fine. Temps dont get about 35 on any core on stress testing, so cant be heat, and I havent played with any options yet it bios or alike.

If you stress test just ram then it fails too after less than 2 mins. Got to be somthing to do with ram

Ill be ordering another litre of the stuff then!

Just found out that the new EK Supreme block is in stock aswell so Ive ordered one of them! Should be here Tuesday

Will be interested to know how that block compares to the fuzion .

I to am interested in the comparison between the two. The supreme will have to be a little bit special i think?

Look forward to your assessment, thoughts regarding the new supreme EK block tsinc
