N73 users here...

Right all, still need a bit of help :)

I've received a 1gig card today, put all the tom tom files on the card. Went to run the setup file and it wont install on the phone.. :confused:

What am i doing wrong here?

Sorry I though you ment turn the phone off :p

Even so, I have no idea why nokia would bring out a new phone, and not allow the alarm to sound with the phone turned off. Why go backwards insted of forwards :confused: :confused:
 
Just a little heads up to people not in the know..

The v4xx firmware has been re released (was taken down a few weeks ago due to bugs). I'm just installing mine now so I'm not sure if there is any improvment yet.
I've used a Euro 1 product code as to be honest, I can't be arsed with vodafones software, makes the phone all sluggy and alike.

I've gone from (over the past year)

Vodafone Firmware > Music Edition Firmware > (and now) Vanilla Firmware

Supposedly the new vanilla one has more features than the music edition.. We shall see...

I've read it has a better/on par music player as the music edition


EDIT: Just instaled it, seems more or less identical to the music edition firmware I previously had. Probably will be a worthwile upgrade do you guys who were just on the vanilla firmware all along! Ah well least they have fixed some bugs :)

Never had a purple tint on my photos.

The phone is totally ******** as far as I am concernd, constantly crashes (no matter on firmware updates), the camera slide is now getting dodgey, and I when I slide it open it sometimes gots back to the main screen, unless the slide is perfectly in the right position.

The camera is naff at night/low light.

I can't wait for my contract to end to be honest. :mad:

With the newer firmware (couple months old) compared to the stuff that was on it when I got the phone in Oct, is more stable and crash-wise it hasn't been too bad. The main problem now is the camera slide, which is something that is nothing to do with the operator, just the shoddyness of current Nokias.

Years ago when I first got a Nokia is was brilliant, sturdy phone that worked well, nowdays Nokia seems to be rather naff, I'd rather have a SE or, well anything else...want to get a PDA though, and a seperate camera.

suppose you could always try the vanilla firmware, but that would void your warranty.
I just changed my fascia, and had to totally take the phone apart, if the screws wernt screwd in tight enough the slide on the back of the phone would go dodjey, just a thought.
 
I have an 02 phone and am on 02 myself, have just tried updating to the new firmware and it says that my phones already upto date, with version 3.7 something like that, why can't I get version 4, I really want the new music player!

Hi guys,


My gf got one of these this week, I was wondering if there's a website that for all the S60 apps on it? Not after dodgy links or anything, just want to see whats available :)

Also, how do I tell what version of firmware is on the phone?
Also any pics of the new music player? The one on there seems a bit rubbish :p

is it possible to change the screen on this phone,as a mate has managed to scratch/crack his.or is it a dealer/repair jobby? :D
