According to this: http://www.sandisk.com/Compatibility/Device(8461)-Nokia-N95.aspx the new 4gb Micro Sd card is compatible with the N95.

Makes my nano redundant!

Wowawiwa! Do you know when it its out in the UK? The only reason I will keep my Nano is for Nike+sport.. then again if you can find a way to attach it securely to your body the GPS sports programme should be better.

Really would love a 4GB card! might just wait a couple of days and see if anyone has the bottle to buy one and try it before i go and buy my 2GB.

The included mapping software (maps2go) dont necessarily require access to the internet as you can download the maps beforehand on your PC, thereby incurring zero GPS running costs.

edit: answer my own question... you can download the maps here: http://www.smart2go.com/en/

unfortunately o2 didnt send me a memory card, which u need to download the maps onto with this app. gonna have to order one !

Found another 'tip':

Hold down the top right hand button and say the name of a contact - it should recognise the name. Its worth it for the american robotic voice saying the names!

wtf!

Battery life has been fine for me - until today - fully charged over night and battery dead (to the point the phone shutdown) before midday! Spent ~5 mins browsing the web on the train this morning and that is all - no calls, no texts no WLAN etc at all!

Did you leave the internet 'on' by mistake? It may have been on from when you used it until midday in which case the WLAN connection sucked up all the battery.

Was connected via 3G tho not WLAN - or do they both drain the battery at the same rate?

I must admit I find it hard to tell what applications are still running on this phone. Any easy was to tell? I want to do a ps -ef :D

Got my sim free n95 today and i have to say im very impressed with it but dont know if its worth the £500 odd quid i paid for it. It really is making me think twice now about selling my P990i and replacing it with this although i do love the P990i. Have put the P990i up for sale and will give it the weekend to see if i get anyone wanting to buy it.

All in all its a superb phone, i think Nokia have finally sorted out the OS problems that hindered their other n series phones...this one is super quick...quicker than the P990i as well .

The more i play with it the more i fall in love with it...but as i said i dont know if i can justify the cost of it. Might return it and wait a few months till the price comes down a bit more or wait till my contract with tmobile is up for renewal....

I remember you hating the N80 lol so its good that N95 seems to have faired better.

I'd love to be in a position where I can just spend £500 on a phone to able to test it out lol!

Solaris weenie ;)

As someone mentioned, just hold down the menu button and it pops up with a type of task manager.

Can I ask, are most of you N95 owners using it with that T Mobile Web and Walk tariff? It's been getting a lot of advertising space recently on the telly, seems to be the best bet if you're going to be doing a lot of surfing and emailing.

If I were to get this phone, could I realistically leave my compact digital camera and mp3 player at home? Are the 'extras' that good?

Thanks :)

I'm with web'n'walk - works like a charm.

I still carry my nano - still muct better mp3 player than any phone. Can certainly leave the camera however.

yep Im on Web & Walk, I changed over from o2 and am very happy with them.

I was considering selling my digi camera before I got this phone but the quality of the photos for me dont justify selling it, yes they are good but not 100% perfect like a dedicated camera. As an mp3 player, when the 4gb microsd sticks come out (soon I think) I will probably get rid of my Nano.

Hehe yeah the N80 which was a lovely phone feature but truly truly sucked with the implementation of those features...not to mention it was like a brick ie very thick. Compared to the N95, this thing is very slim and hardly noticeable in your pocket...very impressed with it and also the general speed of the phone is very fast compared to other nokia n-series phones i have had in the past. Only thing im not so impressed with is the camera, for 5mp camera its pretty terrible imho...pics come out very grainy and not sharp even on auto settings. Compared to the k800i which is a 3.2mp cam, the k800i blows the n95 camera away. It would have been nice if Nokia could have made the camera slightly better but sadly thats the only thing letting it down imho. Saying that though, its still pretty good but not as good as i had hoped.

Might have a buyer later for the p990i...hopefully if it sells then i can justify the cost as it would be offset with the sale of the p990i of mine.

So you are saying the K800i camera is better than the N95's camera? What about in other conditions? I'm stuck between the N95 and the K810i (when it's released) I mainly want the phone for photos, so I'm still undecided.

What about in the darkness, i.e on a night out, that is when I will be using the camera, how does the N95 fair against the k800i?

Cheers mate.

Tbh mate i havent really used the camera on the n95, i did take some indoor pics last night and i wasnt that impressed...that was with normal room lighting. But from what i could see, the k800i that i have is a much better camera and i use that on nights out and really i cant fault it tbh. I just find the n95 pics a bit too grainy for my liking but like i said i havent really taken many pics with it....at the mo im not sure if ill keep the phone tbh.

One thing i must say about the n95 is that the speakers on it are very loud which is a good thing compared to both my SE's that i have..K800i and P990i. With this phone you and everyone else knows that its ringing...very loud and clear and also music playback through the speakers is very nice....

Well if you do get the chance to test it abit more, your opinion on it will be much appciated.
