Anyone notice that the mp3 player on the n95 is frankly quite rubbish??. On mine i get a hissing noise soon as i plug my headphones in...i dont use the remote control unit but theres an awful hissing noise even when theres no music being played. Also the sound is very muddy and not crystal clear..all in all pretty rubbish if you ask me.

Guess ill have to stick to my SE K800i and its brilliant mp3 player for the time being...

yep. but then its a phone, all phones are 2nd rate next to my d2. i dont use the mp3 playing on my n95 at all

Soooooooo , after reading this thread the N95 has *deep breath* dodgy battery life , dodgy satnav , dodgy mp3 player , dodgy barcode reader , dodgy speaker , dodgy call quality , dodgy build quality , K800i has the better camera  Have I missed anything ? ;)

charge it every night, its fine
sat nav is a dissapointment
mp3 - its a phone, i dont care
call quality is fine on mine
the barcode reader works perfectly fine. its because people are trying to scan the barcodes on their mars bars. erm...thats not what it's for
build quality is perfectly fine, and the front is magnesium.
the k800i is better in the dark. the n95 is better in the day. its one or the other but no clear winner

And yet people keep buying / defending this or still want one , WHY ?????
because its the best phone on the market.

The Best Phone on the Market or the most feature packed phone on the market ?

It has slightly dodgy features ? so i don't really think you can say its the best on the market !

If you wanna just compair its ability as a phone, i.e calls txts video calls. I'm sure a lot of people would argue with you.

But hey we're all entitled to our thoughs,

No my W810i is the best phone !;)

my ex had an w810i. the n95 is better. if that wasnt the case, i wouldnt have bought it. its that simple:) but hey you are right, you're entitled to your opinion. so im going to do something more interesting than try to convince people who have no intention of listening:)

just got the n95 today, good phone not sure if i keep it but i got a week to use and decide if i want it or not.

reasons atm to send back possibly:

1. don't like the back colour of the phone, why they pick purple?

2. When i hae the phone open and am pushing the buttons under the screen, the part of the phone slided up moves slightly and is making a slight clicking noise as it taps the other part of the phone. anyone else get this?

3. Not to keen on the keypad as its not out enough compared to the sliding bit if thats makes sesne.

anyway see how i feel in a week.

having trouble downloading the maps onto the phone from nokia map downloader
. It says that the hpone needs to be connected via usb cable and set to mass storage, but the phone is afaik. I unplug, plug in, choose connection via data transfer, says ok, but still it won let me download uk maps. Anyone know why this is and a soltuion?

Also will using the maps cost me money? I really dont want to use something and find after like 30minutes use that it was using the net the whole time costing me big bucks.

also how do i upload videos to the memory card via usb and what folder would i put them in? Again same for music?

And finally any way to remove stuff from the main page (that correct name?) as some of it i really diont want like the clock with no digits, just the hands? And also make it so the wallpapers fill the screen and aren't squished into half of the screen?

[edit]

jsut had the phone restart for the second time when i accidently click to connect to interent and now editing this its the third time trying to use the maps thing

thought of another question. so if i connect via my wireless interent does that cost me anything?

Thanks

Just got my n85 2 days ago, first impressions are quite high, seems a bit slow to respond though although i see that the new firmware should change this. Only fault i have seen so far is that the map/sat nav thing is a bit dodgy, still ok though.

I'm having that exact problem. I've had my N95 for two weeks now and I've only just started noticing it. I can't remember if it was always like that. I was thinking about sending it back for a change of phone if it wasn't.

Has anyone else had this? Is it just how its designed or is it a fault?

The firmware will sort all the map problems:)
