Nandos - Who has been?

I fell out with them a couple of years ago for trying to charge me for mayonaise. I always just ask them for it when they bring the chicken now, and they always give it to me for free.

Will go once in a blue moon, and I get 20% NHS discount, so it's pretty cheap for me :)

Not really. Ordered starters each, main course and then some more starters. Then added another main course to share, some more starters/side dishes. Maybe another main course to share...can't really remember exact details just remember the amount we paid as it was abnormal.

But good times.

starters as said before are only like £3 each, you get sides with main's anyway for £1 or £2 extra too.

so i think the amount of alcohol consumed will have to account for some of the bill i would imagine.

a bottle of wine or two at £12-£20 each and i can just about imagine a bill for 2 at £70.

but you pay before you get anything, so i don't really see how you could have been shocked by anything, i think your mixing nando's up with somewhere else.

or did you actually walk to the counter 5-6 times to order? therefore you had multiple separate receipts. which you actually bothered to add together?

Used to go every now and again and always enjoyed it when I did. Usually went for the wings with chips and coleslaw or a half chicken with the same plus a side of hallumi as I love that cheese and it is usually really nice from Nandos (a tad pricey perhaps).

Haven't been in nearly a year though so might have to go back soon!

But if you'd done that in a "real" restaurant you'd have paid £200+ and probably only eaten half as much food.

Not a huge fan of Nandos, ill go once in a while ie maybe every few mths or something. I just find their chicken over priced in all honesty. But i do have a soft spot for their hot wings...usually ill get 10 of those with some chips.

Saying that the missus and my mum absolutely love Nandos though so will go at least twice a week.

The portions have taken a nose dive, especially in the burgers and pittas, its an absolute farce, i remember a few years ago, the chicken actually used to fill the large pittas, now they have not only reduced the size of the pittas, but the chicken aswell, so it fills just over half the smaller sized pittas!

If you're in Birmingham try Piri Fino, on the dudley road near the hospital, much bigger portions, similiar style.

Not been for a while but I am partial to:

5 wings hot
Peri-peri chips
Spicy rice
Perinaise dip

Washed down with a Savanna dry cider or a Superbock. The choc-o-lot dessert is good too, would be one to share with the gf though after that lot.

IMHO if you're going for a burger or pitta you're missing out, the tastiest chicken is wings or a half/whole. Tasty, quick and cheap; an alternative to going to any other chain restaurant to me, but not a replacement for a proper meal out.

I remembered paying initially but then got a waitress to just bring us extra food and added it to our bill. This was about 11, so just before midday and it was virtually empty. And no we didnt have a lick of alcohol, bottomless refills ***. Trust me there's no mistaking the event, and deserts were involved but i cant remember what. It was a bit funny walking out of Nando's and into the BMW, and just sitting there listening to music.

That's true but who goes to a restaurant with their mate at noonish? Not a fan of restaurants in particular but i have to admit Nando's is better than all the other fast food chains.

And to the person who posted that pic of an obese person, I weigh 73kg currently and have never weighed more than 76kg at any point in my entire life.

been three times with freinds - i only go as they want to - it is just overpriced chicken - i make better chicken for myself at home :(
