Narrow road and the school run!

Lovely van (I mean it).

My take on it is that he is blocking the highway. But he's not responsible for your damage. You could have asked him to move or considered another route if possible. No-one forced you to try to pass. But I do think he is blocking the public highway.

Not so sure as in our road he wouldn't be, frequently we have vehicles parked in the road the same width and directly opposite our driveway making it very difficult to extract our cars from our driveway. The view of the Police, as they manage the parking, was that vehicles were perfectly entitled to park there as it is still possible to maneuver around them.
Quite regularly the bin men drive over the pavement, which I am responsible to keep in good and safe state of repair..

just as a after thought if his answer was to say call the police , i wonder if he has been in this situation before and knew the outcome would be in his favour. i still think hes in the wrong , but im afraid its just 1 more of the entitled behaviour we are getting used to seeing.

Just buy some of those ramps they have to get on the back of low loaders, then (as they're quite heavy) it would be a shame if you lost control of the ramp and it caught his car:D.

i may be out of touch , but if you called the police , is he not parked the wrong way? i always park with the flow of traffic not against it. maybe just me being ocd:)
If he was facing the other way he wouldn't be able to offer sweets to the passing children.
Oh ohh...

Nah, if you looked him in the eye and said 'go on then' he would **** himself. All mouth these people.

That white post looks like it was installed by the owners of the property next to it.

I’m guessing a light tap from the Tangomobile would have pushed it over. Still, could easily have avoided that by going up the dropped kerbs.

Just to add to those that say mount the kerb and verge to get past, actually that is an offence under the highways act as well. Basically that bloke is wilfully blocking the highway and is in the wrong for stopping where he has.
