NASA space shuttle spots a UFO

It looks kind of like an oblong monolith around 3ft by 9ft :eek:

Seriously though it looks like whatever it is is tumbling or is that just an illusion?

It's got to be bigger than that, clouds aren't that high in the Earths atmosphere and the shuttle is in orbit, it must be a fair size to be able to be seen from the Shuttle in orbit to the top of the cloud base.

Anybody know if an aircraft could be seen from Orbit or is it just too small?

Would not be the first thing they'd check. I'm sure it'd be easy to find out if any planes commericial or not would be in that area.

I guess, it was more a generic question, I wouldn't imagine you would be able to see a plane from orbit it would be just too small.

Just read about it on the BBC website. From the descriptions of the video it sounds like the object is very close to the craft.

But then from looking at the video it appears to be very far off and around the clouds which would then make the object quite big.

I would say space debre but the fact it looks like it's traveling through the clouds at a pretty consistent speed makes me think it's a plane, damn big one though. Spy plane anyone?

It's not through the clouds, it's above them. It also seems to be going at an orbital velocity remarkably similar to that of the shuttle?

I'm going to have to refresh my mind on 2001: A Space Odyssey before commenting on the monolith idea though.

I just don't think it would be possible to see an aircraft from orbit but I'm waiting to be proved wrong

What is the record for number of humans in space at any one time? Nasa TV just mentioned there's about a dozen up there at the moment.
