Nasty Gal ad banned over "underweight" model

I bet 100% of complaints came from overweight people who call themselves bubbly and have coloured hair.

It also amuses me that we are so concerned with sugar intake we are introducing taxes on it to try and reduce obesity, and yet here we are, celebrating obesity on models, like what is that all about.

For those like me who've not seen the ad:

She does look a bit thin, but this whole thing smacks of double standards when you see the 'Fat Acceptance' BS being applauded as 'progressive'.

Ones a stick ones a fat cow, whats the problem? Neither are attractive to normal people.

Outrage? I aint got time for it sorry.

With this being a computer forum there might be a few skinny guys who’ve bagged themselves a whale. There is a tendency for them to white knight these topics... talk of “real women” mentioning “curves” when they actually just mean fat and of course feigning disgust at hot skinny girls by claiming they need to eat more.

Quite reassuring to see that the comments so far have been generally quite sensible.

Surprised it took that long for the phrase 'white knight' to come up. Get Chris and Deuse in here to spout some twaddle, derail to Brexit and then have people vaguely complaining about women in general and my Bingo card will be full! Reward: being annoyed enough to steer clear of GD for another few months xD

It’s pretty silly, obesity is a far bigger health problem yet we’re supposed to embrace it and celebrate a morbidly obese future diabetes disaster on the front cover of Cosmo UK while supposedly skinny models need to be banned for “health reasons”.
1/. The word is 'celibate'. ;)
2/. We weren't so much to embrace it, as simply stop bullying the **** out of fat people. It's just over-progressed, now.
3/. I bet a good percentage of them began as size 10-12, but got utterly depressed because they weren't the size 6 (or less) models like Twiggy and Kate Moss, or whoever magazines said they should be like... which manifested itself in overeating and lazing around being even more depressed. Semi-serious assertion...

She looks anorexic to be honest.
Doesn't matter. "The Manchester-based online fashion retailer said the model was a UK size 8, with a body mass index (BMI) of 18.8, within the healthy weight range.".

This is a joke right? She's certainly not healthy, she looks disgusting.

Good thing nobody has to see her. She needs to start eating.
"The Manchester-based online fashion retailer said the model was a UK size 8, with a body mass index (BMI) of 18.8, within the healthy weight range.".

The model in question is pretty anorexic looking rather than "normal".

Given the state of currently normalising fat heffers at the moment, I was very surprised to see one of these billboards near my house; https://www.prweek.com/article/1458...arch-uk-stands-anti-obesity-campaign-backlash Good on Cancer Research UK for telling it how it is. I've a right mind to donate to their cause.

If there was genuine concern re: health rather than just an attempt to push some SJW agenda then they would be looking at both an upper and lower limit.

It is especially ridiculous when she has a normal BMI and merely looks like she might be under the lower limit, while they do nothing re: people who are actually well above the upper limit of normal.

^^ (taskmaster)
pretty much, it seems the default nowadays is to do the complete opposite extreme, the love your curves kinda stuff is only there because of the amount of **** fat people have to deal with and the crazy numbers of people (mostly women) with body image issues.

You aren’t going to bully people into losing weight and I think i prefer the love yourself side but it needs a disclaimer about overall health.
