NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Lies. Headers, go!

I think headers would turn this into horrific rasp and just insane volume to be honest, which was the reason I opted for the quieter one originally knowing that once headers were fitted it would be louder and a touch raspier. I think these with headers would be just stupid!

Anything I do to this car now needs to be removed with relative ease and headers is an 8-10hr job so by no means easy so pointless bothering. Changing the rear exhaust took 30 minutes. :)

Hi there

OK just spanked the wallet and sold the 20" wheels which were drilled wrong, a guy with an E60 M5 V10 has had them and he understands if they do not fit its not my issue. :)

The reason the wallet has taken a beating Guy from Nemesis was able to grab me a set of KW Clubsport 2-way with linear springs and top mounts at the original price before they put prices up nearly £500.

Hope to have fitted to the car by end of the month, ride heights dialled in and fully corner weighted.

The reason I've gone for KW, well I've being in Guy's and Mac's Mustang with them fitted and the ride quality was simply outstanding along with amazing body control and yes at over 2k its not small money but hey its quality German suspension that is well simply in another league compared to the Chinese/American stuff to be frank unless you spend a huge amount of money at which point KW looks good value.

I also have KW Clubsport 2-way on my M3 and that car rides so well and the handling is something else, when you can go sideways under power hitting bumps and undulations in the road and have complete control is proof of decent suspension setup.

Yes I know the car could get sold if I go for MY18 but of course the KW will not be sold with this car, when it comes to selling my stock (brand new) PP dampers shall be re-fitted with the Ford/Eibach lowering springs specifically designed for PP dampers by Eibach for Ford UK, hence why I am keeping hold off the Eibachs.

My FRPP dampers and Steeda ultralite springs shall be sold, looking for £450ish for the set.

Then when I get MY18 if there is no magneride on UK cars I will fit my KW or if I get magneride and its not as hoped well I can still fit KW. If its awesome then selling KW is never difficult due to how good they are.

I could have gone V3 but progressive springs and lack of top mounts put me off and having being in two Mustang's with Clubsports they ride and handle superb, did not want to get V3 and then just be thinking or wishing I'd got Clubsports.

Once all fitted and ride heights set to where I want will post up some pictures. :)

Would be good to know how you get on as I want to change my setup from stocks to something else, Litchfeild do a kit they developed with bilstein which all done works out at 4k but there is a KW kit available also. The price difference being about 1k less.

Get Lichfield kit, simply because those guys put so much time, research and develop into the GTR if you tell them what you use the car for they will make it drive insanely good. If it was just regular Bilstein vs KW, then KW everytime but the Litchfield kits are built specially to their specification with damper rate and spring rate for UK roads.

So current Mustang last build is August this year and, with the Mustang MCA looking at an April delivery time for UK, should mean orders can be placed on the system around Sept/Oct for new Mustang

KW Clubsports fitted over weekend, well I've done everything bar the rear springs as to much an ass changing rear springs in the driveway on Mustang. Still KW dampening, simply superb, even pot holes are no longer an issue the ride quality improvement from the coilovers is nothing short of fantastic. :)

Also a video from the recent Mustang meet. ;)

Looking good Gibbo.

That all black Mustang though  would love that.

Did you lower it ?

Ride heights not set yet, shall do that on alignment rack, for now I set the front close to maximum height and least possible camber, so its a touch higher than before:

Once rear springs are on can set rear height and get it to where I want it, then corner weight and then align it all up. :)

Popped into a Detailers in Shrewsbury this morning and they had a very shiny red Mustang in there. It really is a nice looking car.

Here's a few of my mods :)

Kooks headers have been sent off to be ceramic coated too

KW rear springs fitted, they are twice the weight of the Steeda ultralite springs. :(

Anyway had the rear height adjust set to maximum height and then wind back until their was 10mm of thread showing for fitting due to what other said about the car being too slammed on midway setting.

Using tiger seal to mount the perches to car body reason being when adjusting height in rear common issue is the whole unit spinning, hopefully this will remedy that.

So all fitted and the heights look pretty spot on:

Heights not adjusted or measured just a visual inspection and all looks reasonable well.

Shall drive for a couple of weeks, allow everything to settle and then go for an alignment at which point shall also get the height set accurately all round. Shall also do the corner weighting too as makes sense considering I have coilovers to take full advantage of them.

Front can go a touch higher and vastly lower if wanted and rear can go upto 10mm further higher and a whole lot lower though I am quite happy with the stance I have set now, maybe a touch lower in back by 5mm or so, but that may happen over next week anyway as thing settle.

Handling, ability to put power down, damping are fantastic, probably overkill and V3 kit would proably be better for most or even V1 for those who do not want adjustment, but as KW always are, insanely good dampers.

Regularly seeing a matt black Mustang going through Moseley on my way home from work and it looks bad. I just shake my head every time i go past it.

Cant see how a colour makes a car look bad, people wrap cars and though its not for me I've never thought it made a car look bad and colour choice is personal opinion.
