Not the markets they are targeting for that car I guess. GM has Holden down under?

Yeah, Holden are still using the Zeta platform (5th Gen camaro) for the commodore though even they say they have already released the last car to do so - the same car that gets over to the UK as the VXR8 and its a 4 door. So they need a replacement anyway, what will be interesting is how they bring it to the UK as GM have sold off Vauxhall/Opel in EU.
But then they already do a RHD on the Alpha platform in the Cadillac CTS-V (with the same supercharged LT4 at 649hp as the Camaro ZL1), but it is considerably higher priced than anything with a Chevy or Holden badge at the mo.

i'm not a huge Mustang fan....yet, but this i love, it's oldish, but very low mileage and looks stunning, i saw a 2006 Mustang two weeks ago, but it wasn't a Jack Roush edition stage 3 Supercharged like this one..............

MY18 Mustang has slipped for the UK... Production now starting in Jan 2018 so probably wont see physical stock until mid 2018...

it's somewhere between 400 and 500hp i guess, on a 20k mileage 2006 Mustang, but it's not a Roush blower it's a Saleen and i dont know why it's been switched, i'll find out tomorrow ;)

but the car has one drawback...............it's Auto! it might not be new like a Type R etc, but it's a heck of a lot more fun with miles more attitude.

Edit today :- SOLD to someone else

Whenever Ford systems allow... I would expect it to not be before October IMHO as final factory builds of the current Mustang is during September...

the waiting list for the mustang is around 6 months, so last time there was a year change they were taking orders expecting it to be the new model (e.g. I ordered a "blue" mustang and was told it would be the new blue as even people that had ordered 2-3 months before me and ordered the older darker blue had actually ended up being told they were getting the 2017 blue instead)

I can't believe they are going to stop making the 2017 in September and not start making the new one until January 2018

in any case, cars take about 6 weeks to get from the US to UK dealers, and with the 6 month wait it will probably be around August when you can basically "guarantee" that you get the new one, it will be end of Feb they get to the UK, not 6 months on from January if thats when they are starting building them

I must be tired because I have re-read this a few time sand still cant figure out what you are saying

You said earlier that they start building 2018 Mustangs in January 2018, so middle of the year before they get here. But normally they only take about 6 weeks to get from the production line in the US to here, so that would be end of Feb, beginning of March they actually land. They wouldnt build a car in January and wait months to ship it. And a car landing in the UK in Feb would have been ordered before August - longer if you are right and they are shutting down production of UK Mustangs for 3 months.

So you are suggesting that the UK can place orders before August 2017?

If so, great, but I am skeptical of that timeframe.

Big IFs.

If there is still a 6 month waiting list in the UK and If what you are saying - that they are shutting down production in September - is true, then yes. With a 6 month waiting list the last 2017 cars to be ordered and made by September would be ordered around June time and delivered by October/early November.

The dealers wont guarantee anything of course, and what they said to me when I ordered mine was that they hadn't had confirmation that the change of colours had happened, but they had already had build dates assigned and had it confirmed that they would be getting the new colour not the old one, but they still hadn't updated the system in the UK. If my order got a build date and the colour wasn't assigned how I wanted they would give me the option to cancel (I ended up cancelling anyway but that's a different story).
