NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

Having read the list again I've removed the "probably". :p

I'm quite sure that a F Type, an M2 and a GTR will all be miles better in terms of chassis dynamics. And if you get out of an Exige into a Mustang, it will probably make the Mustang feel like a wet flannel. :p

I'd get an B7 RS4 honestly. It will be quick, it will sound great, it will be well equipped, and it will be fun. But most importantly, you probably won't miss it when you get rid of it and step into your new 'Stang. :)

You forget I've driven most of these cars, and you could not be further from the truth in some respects, people who have driven the modern Mustang and the other cars will know it strengths and weaknesses. For instance the GTR, the Mustang has a much keener front-end and basically turns in better, its also easier to hold through a corner on the throttle and the driving dynamics are very much old school but pretty good and you forget my car is not exactly standard, I dialled all the weaknesses out.

In short there really is no perfect car, well there is Porsche GT3, but thats the only one I can think off, though unfortunately it has grown a touch too big but its not quite as big as a BMW M4, Mustang or GTR, but its no longer the ideal size like a BMW M2, Porsche 911/Cayman 997/987 generation. But the GT3 is the closest you will get, its also why they are all 120k plus for second hand examples. :(

Lets see if I move the Mustang early I have an opportunity to maybe jump in and out of a few vehicles whilst I wait, my only real complaint about the Mustang is its a manual, its not a bad manual, I just dislike manuals I am finding as I get older in a daily car. The size of it does not really bother me on my daily commute, only time its an issue if blasting down a road you don't know which is quite narrow, as such your more cautious and its performance in the wet is lack lustre as the chassis/weight and driven wheels just don't suite wet performance driving. But as a car for the daily commute it probably brings more smiles to my face than any other car because I can push it and enjoy it and grin like crazy or I can just drive down the street at 20mph and still be grinning like crazy, this is where it wins hands down over most other cars. If I want driving dynamics I already have one of the best on my drive in the E46 M3 which to be frank takes a massive dump on most modern cars. :)

Ebay experts

Some people at OcUK have told me I've advertised my car wrong on ebay, its done as auction:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332401829090?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

I am being told I should have done it as a Classified ad with a set price and that now because I've not done it this way if it sells and even falls through that Ebay are going to want like 1% from me for transaction which would be like £350 if it sells at 35k, is this true?
My understanding was ebay treated motors differently and I paid like £20 upfront for the advert, if I am gonna get stung for a few hundred quid for doing as an auction I might as well end it now to save that cost, even worse if the winning bidder never shows up as well.

I've never sold a car on ebay before and right now it seems to be Ebay that is creating the most traction.

If it sells as an auction and the buyer doesn't pay then you can request a final value fee credit, but by the looks of things you have to give up on chasing them for the money to do so, its a bit confusing to be honest. Basically if you ask ebay for help getting the money and the buyer having it on their permanent record then you have to pay ebay the fee, if you just give up and the buyer gets away with it scot free then you CAN ask for a credit.

But if it does sell are they going to take 1% of the final value? If true thats gonna be like £350, seems a bit of a joke!

Just FYI, you state in your eBay description update "Over 1yr remaining Ford warranty" but in the item specifics towards the top it states:
"Manufacturer's Warranty: 01/2018
Seller's Warranty Expiry Date: 9 Months"

I can't imagine you're offering a personal warranty

In fact, new car is 3yr I think, so it actually expires January 2019, it is 3yr on new car yes, Ford? Or is it 2yr? Or is it the MOT which is when 3yr old?

Just imagine if they pay by paypal, then youd be in for a shock :D

Funny you should say that, had one try that on this morning.
Emailed me saying
"Seen the car, it is gorgeous and exactly what I want and the pictures and detail is enough for me to buy without seeing. But as I am disabled and death I need to arrange a courier and paypal payment"

I replied stating payment via cash or cleared funds bank transfer only!

They reply, but I am death, I reply all banks have telephone banking for death people, so transfer the money!

No reply! :D

Scammers everywhere! :(

Haha!

Well I dropped my reserve earlier to a tactical 32.9k, car has just hit 33k so its gonna sell unless its a timewaster. Two days to go so hopefully it will build up to around 35k, especially now buyers see reserve has being reached it will encourage more bidders and then I can grab a fun car for winter and wait for MY18 to arrive. :)

Guys

Forgotten how to do this, but can I get my plate off the car quick and it back onto its old plate? Is it something I can do online and it be live within 24hr so new owner can collect without delay?

someone is getting a bargain thanks to paypal.

Paypal payment is now allowed, I will take £300 as a deposit from paypal. Made it clear the remainder will be in cash or we go to their bank and they transfer the money in front of me at the bank into my account.
Also had a trader confirmed they will buy my car today as well at £33,000 with the majority of the modifications as they want it as their showroom demo car. This is a very easy sale for me as I know the trader and they have already purchased a guys Mustang I know and it went super smooth.

So I am guaranteed 33k, was / am hoping for 35-36k but it will fetch whatever it fetches. :)

I have two log books.

One in the BW65 EKH reg and one in G18 WTF reg.
I assume when sold I fill in and sign the BW65 EKH log book and throw away the G18 WTF log book?

You should have sent the BW65 one off when you got the G18 one...

Sent it where? That came with the car. I then put G18 WTF on the car and eventually G18 WTF log book arrives.
Yesterday I paid to remove G18 WTF and the site said to put BW65 EKH back on the car.

So when buyer comes, which log book does one sign?

If the winning bidder wants to take car tomorrow I shall just explain to him the log book issue and will just sign the BW65 EKH one but will then call DVLA next week before sending and see what they say.

Buyer collects tomorrow. :)
Any issues the trader takes it Tuesday.

So either way she is gone. :(

Now to grab something else that is fast for next six months, do I scratch the GTR itch or be sensible and grab a Golf R DSG, both ideal I feel as short term ownership to get them out my system, like idea of a GTR because well its a GTR but I like idea of a Golf R as its being a very long time since I essentially had a hot hatch, though its mind boggling that they can hit 60 in around 3.5s with a stage 1 map. Though the heart says B7 RS4 but when I purchase with the heart they tend to be kept and don't want to be back to owning 3 cars again.

Don't get a Golf R. Dull dull dull :p

+
Buy something you love.

Figure out the rest later :D

Yes Golf R is dull but as a winter run about it is the most sensible choice and though its dull its very fast and very capable and its the smart choice as such a car would save me a few grand over six month ownership, less fuel, less tax, less insurance, cheaper to maintain and no impulse to mod it. End result when I got to buy my 2018 Mustang, I just pay the full wack on cash and have money left aside for tweaking and messing.

GTR is fun but is another big car, as thirsty if not more thirsty than Mustang and big running cost, brakes, service will be due in 6 months at an cost of couple grand, maybe new tyres too, another grand.

I have purchased something I love, an MY18 Mustang, its just not due until March or later next year and the M3 toy is gonna be sitting in a body shop for 1-2 months.
