NEARLY 2 YEARS WAITING: New Mustang GT PP is finally mine!

It really is so awesome that the UK has some truly epic places to visit like this, some of the scenes were like the brochure shots you see of Canada. :)

The North and West coast of Scotland is like visiting another place at times.... Stunning scenery and roads

The most gorgeous location in the country. I would probably take the Polo over the R8, more suited to some of the tighter roads, but a fantastic drive. Where did you stay?

If Mustangs had no issue buddy, I am sure R8 would be fine. :)

Hi there

Ford have announced official power packs for the new S550 Mustang! :)

Funny how they are along the lines of what I have already done and was planning with the Shelby GT 350 intake. I also spoke with Ford USA about if their new performance maps increase the rev limit which they confirmed they do, 7600rpm. When asking if this was safe the response was the Coyote engine in the S550 has the same internals as BOSS 302 and was designed for upto 7600rpm. As such no supporting modifications are required for the higher rpm and those who buy the power pack and have it installed by Ford or a qualified mechanic will keep their power train warranty intact. They also said no-lift shifting is perfectly safe on the power train and warranty remains intact.

Calibration Notes:
- Ford Performance ProCal tool, included with all calibrations, requires laptop and internet access for calibration install
- At this time Power Packs are sold separately and cannot be upgraded without the purchase of an entire kit.
- Powertrain calibrations are developed and supported for U.S. and Canadian vehicles
- Federal and state laws prohibit any person from installing aftermarket add-on or modified parts prior to the sale of a new motor vehicle

It is really good news, as you can buy just power pack 1 and you get all the maps included, so if you decide to add the 350 parts at a later date by just buying the parts by themselves you can.

I have already done Stage 1, but used JDM tuning, I have panel filter, my car went from 410BHP upto 440BHP with tune and panel filter. I also witnessed a 40-50lbft torque increase in the 1500-2500rpm region and car drove so much better, smoother, throttle response etc. :)

Now all I can say is imagine a Mustang with just these simple Ford parts:
- FRPP Power Pack 3: 460-480BHP $1999
- FRPP Handling kit: $999 (dampers, springs, anti-roll bars, bushes)
- FRPP Sport exhaust with quad pipes and valance: $1999
- Michelin Super Sport tyres!

A total transformation and far more capable car that retains a full factory warranty costing around 40k for a brand new car. :)

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Did you order it already? :D

No because I am already running Stage 1.

Yes I have ordered a CAI, but not GT 350 one, gone with another one as I believe it to be better, shall see when I put it on the dyno once it arrives and I get my car back from warranty repair, but hoping to see 450-460BHP. I shall then buy the exhaust manifolds and fingers crossed for 500BHP and around 450lbft.

Then I need to decide if I want to get GT350 intake manifold or not, because yes it would be awesome to have 60 plus more horsepower after 6500rpm and a car that is creating power all way to 7600rpm cut off and not falling off, but I also love the huge amounts of torque the engine has in the 1500-4500rpm region. The Shelby GT350 has a lot less torque down low and I spend more time driving the car in the 1500-4500rpm range then I would in the 6500-7500rpm, so I think the torque is more beneficial on a daily car. If it was a track car then of course another 60 horsepower in the 6500-7500rpm range is great as on track your always in the upper RPM band. :)

Or just destroy my wallet and Whipple it up, that would be 750 plus horsepower.

Gibbo,

Loving some of the NC500 pics.

Question - the yellow Mustang, what bonnet and spoiler does that have, is that genuine Ford parts, perhaps from the US?

Also, is there any word of Ford UK offering recaro seats as an option in future?

It is Cervini fully bodykit, very aggressive styling but on a yellow car with stripes it works amazingly well, fitment was all spot on too.

You can buy Recaro seats from FRPP in USA, they are around $2500-$3000 USD, but they are for LHD cars, but would still fit just means controls would be on opposite sides or you could just use passenger seat for drivers seat etc and have some less adjustment.

The recaro seats look more sporty and weigh less, but the stock seats are a lot more comfortable so not having Recaro's is not such a major loss on the RHD cars. :)

Thanks Gibbo. Slightly frustrated as I see the model options on the Mustangs when I'm in the US, but we haven't caught up in back the UK.

When (if?) we get the same factory options here, inclusing Shelby variants, I can see it being hard to resist.

Gibbo, that trip looks amazing as are the pictures. That would be a right hoot in the Cayman, I think I need to start looking into it.
