Water isn't really an object as you can't cut through it. A sponge if you cut through it you'll be left with two objects. Same with a sandwich.

I can cut clean through it, but still be left with one solid object.

I'll reveal the answer upon the next incorrect guess.

You would be left with one object. In fact if you blend 5 sponges together and left them to it you would come back to 5 distinct sponges

Hmm. Well I never actually knew that. I assumed if you cut through it you would half it.

OK so anyway, brace yourself!

An elastic band. Slice it clean through and you're still left with one object with two ends.

[Edit] that answer is rubbish. I assume you made that one up yourself, because if you slice straight through an elastic band you have two halves of an elastic band in two distinct pieces, otherwise you could half-cut everything and still be left with one solid object.

No. They can also be put on when dry. This one can ONLY be put on when it's wet.
