Need for Speed Carbon

Is there anyway to turn off force feedback in this game? the option was available in previous games but in this it seems to have disappeared :(

got the demo gonna try it out, doubt its gonna add anything new to the series :o

But i loved NFS on the PS1 though ;)

Just done first boss, started off with the RX8 and tuned it up, also won the bosses car, should I use his car or stick with the RX8 and tune it up? at the moment it's tuned for acceleration, hits about 150 mph flat out

Me too, just made it though by 248 points

I took his car and am using it right now, just added a few more components and its rocking ;)

i didnt win the first bosses car so i went and bought a RX-7 and tuned it all up, i did the second boss easily ive done 46% of the game in 4 hours, think im going to take it back tommorow seems way to easy for me

This is a real POS.

Much worse than NFSMW.

What on earth have EA done to the game engine as I can run MW @ 1920x1200 with max details and get constant 30FPS.

With Carbon @ 1920x1200 it looks a lot worse & runs about 10FPS. Terrible optimisation & worse than that the gfx look like NFS1 with a few iffy particle FX. No progression.

Gameplay is about the same as before just different features.

Obviously EA put this entire game together in a few months as lacking polish, style & content compared to MW (still the best NFS title IMO).

Avoid as this game is seriously sub-par even for recent PC ports!

So would you say the RX7 is faster then the RX8?

The game does feel like a downgrade from NFSMS, it actually feels like an Add-on for NFSU2, however despite the poor frame rate and visual quality the gameplay is there. I don't think the game is that bad but they could have improved on NFSMW, I miss the daylight maps.

Have they kept the crappy AI "catch up" on permenantly? If so, I'm not going to bother getting it. Annoyed the hell out of me on MW.

Nice game. Only thing thats really annoying me so far is the totally pathetic colour schemes on the cars. Half of them appear to be just totally chrome... and having all of a crews cars in the same colour looks daft and doesn't feel realistic.

That was the most annoying thing yes but tbh I have not really got a fast enough car to put enough distance between me and the rival racer so I can't really tell you if the "catch up" is still on, however I did notice that catch up is enabled on your crew members (it's not often I will take over a crew member) which is obviously supposed to be there

User the bosses car, its tuner tier 2, your RX8 is tuner tier 1

Had this since wednesday, I like it :)

It's rather easy at first, at 73% completion and its just started getting hard lol

Managed to use the Camaro SS all way through until now, it kinda lacks the speed to race against Carrera GT's and Lambo Murcielagos.

Have a few annoying probs tho, like the occasional crash for no reason when loading something, doesnt happen often though.

Also in canyon runs when you drive near the edge the camera view alters and 99% of the time makes me crash :(

I like the drift when its on a track but it kinda sucks ass on downhill

Overall its a good game and I prefer it to most wanted, I hated the daylight in MW as the road reflection and sunlight quite often was blinding.

Hmmm dont like the sound of 30fps, might be time for a new gfx card.

Anyway... regular or collectors edition, and why?

your PC would be fine to run the game, i have the same video card as you, defo over 30fps

I never noticed the Tier sets

Another thing though is I cannot win drift races to save my life, the drift courses in this game are way different this time, I can easily drift and gain 3000 points but when I cross the line I only get 400 points from it, whats up with that?

I've also had a few random crashes when loading (once or twice in total so far), but I find the game pretty enjoyable. I didn't play NFS:MW so can't comment on whether its better or not.

Was fairly easy till 70% plus and now it's pretty damn hard :)

Got my viper now though... what a beauty!

I stayed with my, I think it was an RX? right up until my DB7, which is like a rocket compared but it likes walls :p need abit of practice!

Well I figured out the drift courses now, you have to be going full speed past the red line to get decent points.
