Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

Doesn't look like they're out of the woods yet........

Performance slightly better on ATI but not what is acceptable really, rain still not working etc......................probably something that a hotfix driver might sort out.
 
Some screenshots of the new graphical effects after patch 1.01. How on earth EA/Criterion missed all of these is crazy but at least it makes the game look even prettier now :D You get Lens flares off most lights as well as Bloom/HDR on police & car lights snow & rain effects as well now. No AA still but TBH it does not even matter as at speed you do not notice it at all on 1920x1200. All highly compressed jpegs no compression artifacts ingame at all its very sharp & clear & the best looking car racing game on any format ever. GT5 looks like a PS2 game compared to this ;) the car models are highly detailed here from all angles I just have not taken any detailed dreamshots of them yet as so many to chose from!

looks cack to me i hate how the LOD gets pretty messed up on stuff thats not far away, the walls going down the sides of the road look bloody awful and a horrid jaggy pixelated mess after only a few metres..

i wouldnt be excited about any more NFS games coming from criterion, i think they failed miserably the game gets boring fast aswell.

i remember the original NFS tracks and they were miles better than this cack, they should get the shift guys to remake the original nfs games

the one area of the game i liked was the bit based on the real life road in italy from this video
the curves were ruined by the crappy drifting handling of the cars though

Screenshots don't do the game justice, you have to see it running (I appreciate you have done, but anyone who hasn't bought the game should realise that), it does look stunning and runs so smoothly.

And the drifting handling of the cars is awesome :eek:

I'd say it has unlimited replayability because the fun is from playing the game and taking part, not just from achieving particular goals.
 
hi iv just got the game and i'm wondering if in freedrive u can chase speeders as the police and be chased as a speeder?
 
Bought this game, everytime I try and install it says installer services not running...when they are...

Anyone else had this or got any advice?

Yep its running, I restarted it to make sure, also restarted computer and crossed fingers but no luck lol
 
sorry mate, nothing more I can think of.

I have done a quick google and can see a number of people posting registry fixes for the MSIserver component which you can merge in, but I reckon it's best you look into that mate, just in case I send you some duff .reg file or something :)

do a search on msiserver.reg and vista/windows 7 along with your error of "installer service could not be accessed"
 
I love this game! Such nostalgia from the old one, but with updated everything. Playing on a i7 920 and XFX 5850 and no problems at all so far :)
 
I'm more of a sim racer than an arcade racer these days, but I'm tempted to buy this for its historic roots. What's more, I am tempted by the price at g2play for the game (£17 for standard, £23 for limited edition).

Has anyone forked out for the limited edition?
