^ Need for Speed Shift ^

Just did the Veyron invitational, and somehow won it on my 3rd attempt. Such an exilherating experience, my heart is still pounding! One slip up and they all shoot past, awesome stuff!

Is an awesome race, specially over that blind crest with the jump, too much power there and its game over :D

I only got that far on the third attempt (got DQ'd twice for cutting corners) and wasnt expecting it at all! Fortunately I had dabbed the brakes early enough to avoid spinning out

Good man doing it the third time is certainly an achievement. Doing a clean lap I feel is going to be near on impossible, getting away from the start without some kind of shenanigans is difficult enough in any car, let alone it in a Veyron .

That jump in the Veyron is definitely an experience and a half. The FFB through my G25 is amazing... especially on landing when the panic sets in. :->

I had no idea I'd enjoy that race as much as I do. Must have tried it a dozen times now. I'm trying to get round without going off or annoying the AI. That's quite a challenge!

PS There are two other spots you can catch air at... if you're going too fast. :p-)

Nice Vid - Are you using the G25?

Edit - Doh should have read.

Am really in need of a G25, the xbox pad just isn't doing it for me :p

I haven't used anything other than a joystick or wheel for driving since my BBC Micro/Revs days*, and I've never been able to understand how anyone can use a gamepad for anything. Except maybe for wedging under a very wonky table. :-)

Wheels can be a pain (especially if you have PC and console to worry about), but I think anyone who enjoys their racing games/sims really needs to invest in one. I believe even the Logitech DFGT is pretty good if you're on a budget. No good for the Xbox though, I think.

*Actually, now I think about it, my mate had a home-made joystick for the Beeb too.

Nice screenies, but I haven't found an Aston I feel comfortable in. The Porsches and Lotuses have appealed to me most so far, and although I hated the Veyron when I first got into it, I soon warmed to its rather spectacular package of speed and grip. Not an easy car to drive fast, but an easy car to grin in.

And no matter how hardcore you are, no matter how tempting it is to compare this with titles like iRacing, at the end of the day it's all about the grinning, not the winning. :-D

tried this last night after a few beers, needless to stay, i never succeeded in my 4 or 5 attempts lol

My cars are a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, a Bugatti Veyron, a Ford Shelby GT500 and a Honda S2000. I've used the Skyline throughout most of my races but I am now using the Veyron for the World Series.

Going to get some screenies done hopefully tonight of doing some races...the best thing about this game? Being able to spin the other drivers especially during Car Battles or time attacks :D

The worst thing about this game....people like you who think its funny to try and take out other drivers...why not just race fairly?... i just re read the post...you dont mention online...i suppose its ok to spin opponents offline if you want.

Precisely my point...I was referring to offline...I wouldnt do it online...I like a fair play online :D

But spinning them out online is mighty fun! It's a battlefield, there is no fair and you gotta do what it takes to win :)

Not your fault if they can't counter the spin fast enough!

Games like this I play dirty as hell :p

what res , detail settings etc?
im running mine on default i think, works really well

Running it with default game settings, and 1680x1050 resolution.

I'm also using the latest nvidia drivers to, and have tested the 191 beta drivers, and the stuttering on corners is still present.

It's only when there are other cars on the corners with me that it happens, and if I accidentally crash into barriers or other cars it gets even worse.

I've tried running with lower ingame settings, disabling Vsync, setting nvidia control panel to high performance etc etc, and it still stutters.

All of my other games fly on my PC, this is the only one I have problems with, which is really annoying, as it's probably the one game that I want to play the most right now.. :(

I've seen several other people on EA forum who are experiencing the same thing to, I might try disabling HT on my processor to see if that helps.

haha I will admit there is a side of me that likes to be dangerous...and as you say if you cannot counter the spin, not my fault :p

I'll drive cleanly until someone hits me deliberately then I usually go a bit crazy and hunt them down and smash them as hard as possible.

Annoys the hell out of me but I suppose I can't complain too much as its sort of part of the game!

I prefer to try to drive cleanly, think it makes for a more fun race but if someone rams me i have no problem shunting them into a barrier!

And so your journey to the Dark Side will be complete my young apprentices (ok so I can't have two apprentices but hell :p)
