whilst screenshots can be 'buffed' a bit they certainly do look sexy!

Following a rather surprising few days with no news on Need for Speed Shift, the ball gets rolling again as EA has released three new previews. The new shots show the BMW M3 GT2 as well as two unseen cars, the Renault Megane as well as the interior of the VW Golf.
Developed by Slightly Mad Studios (former Blimey! Games) and distributed by EA, Need for Speed Shift is expected to be released in September 2009 for the PC and all major consoles. A demo of Shift has been announced to be available this summer.

yeah screenshots are definitely a bit "touched up". cant wait to see how the game comes along in the end. However, forza motorsport 3 announcement killed some of my hype for this game. one of the few console games that i enjoy.

Simulation my ar*e.

I have to say that it does look very good, but it didn't look like the cars handled in anything other than an arcade style.

Making that many mistakes in a racing sim would never allow you win the race.

chances are AT BEST we will see console levels of "sim", certainly looks more at the arcade end of the spectrum though i guess not AS arcadey as the previous NFS titles.

another good video, have to say if nothing more it looks quite realistic and close to the screenshots they release.

sept 17th its released in europe, sweet... gief demo !!

completely off topic but related to NFS....

Criterion Games, best known for developing the Burnout franchise of racing titles, is now taking a crack at the venerable Need for Speed series. "We don't have a plan right now for a separate major launch on Burnout, because the team doing it is working on a revolutionary take on Need for Speed," said EA CEO John Riccitiello to Kotaku.
Nervous Burnout fans should take note that while it may be a long wait for another Burnout title, the franchise is apparently not being melded with Need for Speed.
When asked whether the "revolutionary" take was some kind of combination of the two racers, Riccitiello replied: "I don't think you can fold Burnout into Need for Speed, because a lot of people like Burnout."
No other details on the title have been released.
interesting, loved Burnout Paradise and loved the old NFS so merging both together could be interesting, how it would work hmm ?
