^ Need for Speed Shift ^

I've had another play today and i've changed my view to in car and stuck with it for pretty much 1st time ever (i usually prefer from outside the car). I've unlocked Tier 3 cars now, slow i know, but i've probably played it for a total of an hour, including a 1 lap single race around the ring in my Cayman in 8 1/2ish, i really need a wheel but i've got more important things to buy than a G25 atm, though i wish i could go and buy one.

Also, i'm running nice on my rig as follows....

Q6600, 4gig DDR2 8000 (i think), ATI HD4850 GFX

Dunno if this has been mentioned but the new ATI betas, the catalyst 9.10s have improved performance noticeably for me. Stuttering is gone, framerate is up albeit still not 60fps but very much playable now :)

Loving my audi rs4 at the moment just finished racing online with it and then went for a stroll around the ring

Dude, i just noticed your car is floating :D

Guys serious problem

I've upgraded my Tier 2 car (cayman S) and now is a mess to drive? Do you think it needs tuning. I can handle the nissan GTR fine but the cayman is impossible to drive properly now thats its been upgraded. any ideas?

ive tuned my Tier 1 Nissan S13 car up to the MAX, and i actualy use the quick tuning screen and i changed the downforce to "speed" (all the way to the left) and its better for me

u can try and playing around with the tunings, and u can always reset to default again no problem

I am currently driving the works murcielago. Very fast and handling is awesome. Winning races is easy with it lol.

Get a standard murcielago, max out the upgrades and then buy the works upgrade, well worth it.

I prefer it to any of the tier 4 cars.

Are you getting LOADS of oversteer?
If so, the "fix" for this is to go into Tuning, change it to quick tuning, and set the Oversteer/Understeer, all of the way to OVERsteer!

Supposedly it's a programming problem that will be fixed.

i love the handling on my cayman S and on my Lotus Elise 111R

My 111r is just an unhinged beast with formula 1 style aggressiveness when it comes to acceleration - Tops out at about 130 but gets there in seconds. I got it maxed out with the works kit and have spent probably 2 hours tweaking the tuning it to make it drivable.

I’m just in the middle of some Tier 4 action at the moment, which I’m loving! The ultimate car for me in terms of performance and agility has to be the F1, simply gave it a flip paint job kept the standard rims and off we go.

A couple of things that have annoyed me about this game are as follows:

Resale value of cars - I bought myself an Escort Cozzie, did all the performance upgrades and added the works kit all of which cost in the region of 500k - I sold this on and what did I get back for it? Yup 500k - Now who in their right mind is going to pay 500k for a supped up Cozzie?

Car choice: Seems ok at first but the car choice is a little limited.

Why earn garage slots? I have in the bank a cool 5 million but have no available garage slots to purchase new cars. Why with 5 million in the bank do I need to be selling cars so I can buy a new one?

Actually it's flying :D

It looks like it is going up hill? Is it hitting a jump?

My 135i is awesome now, handling wise :p
Really? It looks awful!! ;)

As Jakstaar2007 already posted, the way to 'work around' the horrendous oversteer in this game is to use the quick tuning menu and set the slider all the way to oversteer (a bug, oversteer/understeer are reversed).
Even with a manual advanced setup that *should* cause terrible understeer, the cars all oversteer.

I used the following to remove as much of the arcade-like handling as possible (in combination with the oversteer workaround above):
All deadzones 0%
Steering sensitivity 50%
Throttle/brake/clutch sensitivity 0%
Speed sensitive steering 0%
Turning lock (preference, but I run 90%)
All driving aids off (even though there is clearly some sort of TC/STM active that you can't turn off)

Not a game for me unfortunately, shame I bought a digital download copy so can't sell it on!
