Need for Speed Time Trial Championship ** Season 2 ** (Multiplatform)

Slight improvement again but i think i am close to my limit now:

I am surprised that Wedge achieved time of 49.90 even with 2 mistakes, i can see 48s coming from Wedge with perfect lap.

Yeah i reckon wedge could pull of a 48s lap. I finally broke it the 49s aswell, but this was a perfect lap from me, so i guess its just auto gears that are holding me back now.

You've got this combo sussed Wedge. I'm still struggling getting low 50's consistently.

Looking forward to the vid

Yer, i can lap 49's consistently, i have had more time to practise this week then all the others put together (bar the ST @ Donnington)

Not much left in it though for me.

Vid =

It looks like you can only max Downforce Level to 20 from your screen shot. Mine can go to 25. Are you still un-patched? Or maybe Patch 1.1? Patch 1.2 here, maybe that's the difference.

Vanilla install, no patches, i got fed up with the timer issue!

The timer issue is fixed with the latest patch 1.2 btw. For the same reason as you I avoided the 1.1 patch.

Given the extra downforce available with the latest patch, I thought you could break the 48's barrier

Into the 49's at last.

After watching Wedges' vid it showed I was being a little too aggressive on corner entry, resulting in corner exit understeer compromising my speed up the hilly sections.
Also maintaining good line & speed in the first sequence of corners up the hill is paramount to a good lap time. Screw that up & forget about a good lap time.
Practise the start up the hill. Go slow before the Start/Finish line in 4th gear @~5000 rpm so you can place the car where you want it. You don't follow the guide line precisely, keep slightly to the right then turn in easing on the gas. Keep practising adding more speed until you can enter in 5th dropping to 4th as you turn in.
The rest of the track is about being precise. As I've said above, don't be too aggressive (really late braking) entering a corner. You need to hug the apex. There is way more grip on the inside line. Brake a little earlier to get the nose of the car in. DON'T turn & heavy brake at the same time. Slow the car down, off brakes, turn in. You'll be surprised how much traction/speed you can carry through corners with this car OFF the brakes.

^^ yer, what he said :)

Although, i take the first hill in 4th, down to 2nd for the first hairpin, then quickly into 3rd, stay in 3rd no brakes for the next, go in a little deeper than the racing line, as it allows you to take a straighter exit, avoiding that bump ;)

Patch 1.2 makes no difference as far as i can tell, hitting 49.5's almost every lap, just cant get to the 48's.
