Need help, need complete PC (not inc. O/S) for max £600....

What happens was AMD released the first agesa code to board vendors without the support for some of the later lower tier Ryzen products . Again to stress this isn't fault of board makers but AMD when they had the road map and chips already tapped out for it .
Just meant that at the time , some people couldn't use their x370/b350 boards that they might of pre-ordered , or older stock when the other chips came out .
To be honest, I don't think OCUK has old stock as they turn around through products quite a bit , and saw they clear old stock first like any good retail shop does .
Some vendors like Gigabyte allow you to post your board to them and they flash it. I'm pretty sure OCUK would do the same if it's a very old stock board .
Other vendors and resellers , not sure or don't think so .
Think it should be fine , Micky was just bring it to your attention incase you plugged it all together and nothing happens

Does it support USB flashing like other vendors and higher tier ASRock boards without CPU installed ? Not into ASRock info another brands .

If not it's a right pain getting it flashed :(

Not sure
Thanks for the heart attack, why would it need a BIOS update for a Ryzen 3 1200 @ stock speeds?

Sorry About that  some motherboards have needed a bios update to accept Ryzen 3 cpu's

Just checket the cpu support list and its supported from the release first bios 2.10.

Thanks chaps, was @ Asrock site looking at BIOS update info & getting a tad confused as it said it was supported.

Will load new BIOS on a USB stick (supports usb Flash), a very many thanks for the heads up.

Hi chaps, a quick update. Finally got to build it today & it turned into a minor nightmare. All working now though.

Superposition Benchmark on medium of 5238 (i think).

But cable management.... Grrrr. I got quite stressed.

This was the case they wanted https://www.overclockers.co.uk/koli...ng-case-black-full-side-window-ca-025-kk.html
If you look at the 6th Pic you can see all of the cables from the card reader & usb ports & power & fan buttons. There is no way to route them so
that they drop down behind the motherboard, i tried 2 or 3 different ways with the top & front off & the cables always ended up too short to connect where they need to.
Motherboard covered all of the large oval cable slots.

I did the best i could but it still looks terrible to me & will foul on any DVD/Burner drives that get added later.

Any suggestions or advice will be gratefully received. An yeah, i did consider taking a hacksaw to it :/

It was on a Sale at £30 or something like that at the time, so my m8 wanted it.

Will look into that, not sure if you can get them. Thanks for the suggestion :)

I think though, that i'm gona have to hacksaw part of the chassis or start drilling holes.
Can't really leave it as it is, will have to wait until next year though. Will take pic's if i get to do it.

Hi again, have bad news & really need some help.

PC is crashing or restarting after approx 1 hour of gaming, crashes/freeze's/re-starts then start to happen faster & faster (like 30 mins later & then 10 mins, then 2 mins etc), until you cannot actually do anything with the PC.
I was able to load Whocrashed after i saw it crash for the first time & could only get to see 1 data dump which was Video_Engine_Timeout with an error code 0141.
All temps were fine, heatsinks on everything were very cool. Although RealTemp did not recognise the Ryzen 3 cpu.... HW monitor in BIOS reported that CPU Temp was/is 30/32 degrees & m/b temp was 28. An GPU-Z
reported low temps for the gpu. To re-cap it's a Zotaz Mini 1050Ti.

Question is, is there a problem with the graphics card or is it software related. Or is it something else like the motherboard. Have looked on lots of forums for this problem but there does not seem to be a sure fire resolution, some people list every component as a probable point of failure or possible cause of the trouble.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction on this, many thanks in advance.

do the basics first, all cables seated correctly? cpu heatsink overtightened?
remove any overclocks
then memtest -> prime95 -> furmark, see if any errors/bluescreen thrown,

Hi Tamzzy, checked all cables etc, cpu heatsink has good contact, no overclocks were done.

First crash i saw, the screen just went black as a game was exited, the monitor went into standby mode but all the lights & fans on the pc stayed on & running etc. Then after a few seconds the pc re-started.
From what i've read on nvidia's forums lots of people have had this problem but few have an actual resolution.

At the moment i do not have a spare gpu to try in it. I think i'm at the point where i'm just going to have to buy one.

Running latest drivers etc ? Guessing it was a clean install to ? And have windows Fall update installed ?
Able to test GPU in another PC?

black screens can be caused by literally anything from hardware/temps/programs - i'm not surprised that there isn't an exact fix.
for what its worth, i only live down the road from you (well, actually across town), i don't mind using my gpu as a guinea pig to exclude all the other parts of the computer as being the cause if you want?

Yes it was a fully clean install, latest everything, ahh Tamzzy thank you very much for the offer but it wouldn't be right. If anything happened to it i'd be even more embarrassed than i already am.
I'm going to steal my brothers card instead :D And if possible bring the machine to my place so i can try everything anyone can think of over the next few days.

haha np
remote diagnosis is a bit problematic as always, as you can't see what's actually going on.
just an idea, the psu is installed the right way round, right? (as in the fan is able to intake air to cool the psu)
because from what you describe, the crashing getting more frequent, it sounds like a power or temp issue (or a power issue because of a temp issue)

PSU is installed with the Fan facing down, there is a grill & a dust filter at the rear/bottom of the case, also the PSU sits about 1cm above the bottom of the case
& the case itself has stand off's that are about 2cm high. I also had the side off after checking that none of the cables had come lose.
But i know what you mean, it's as though something is getting hotter but all of the heatsinks, including the ones on the motherboard were cold.
If i get it here i can at least turn the PSU the other way up & see if that helps. I also have another brand new Cougar 550W PSU here & i was about to buy another
different motherboard & some ram but OcUK haven't got any 4Gb sticks of RAM atm.......... Grrrrrrr I don't want to have to spend nearly £100 on 8GB that i don't need :/

Oh yeah i did check that hot air was being exhausted from the PSU & have mounted it in the same way as i've mounted my own... This is so frustrating.....

might be the psu fan is faulty, if all the other components are cold. just a thought. it wouldn't be the first time it happens...

Tamzzy, could you recommend a bullet proof AM4 board, cheapest possible?

A320 or B350. Have to get the 4GB of ram from elsewhere.....

Oh bugga i hope not, it's a Super Flower Plat.
