Need to give BC2 a rest. Is Black Ops any good?

But seriously it's pretty, well, I hesitate to say 2007 because I could swear I played it like five years ago. It's just the same as any other COD, good for a quick blast but not really something you can sink hours and hours into imo.
 
As someone big into COD4 (~2400 hours) and MW2 (1000 hours)... I can't reccomend Black Ops. If it was fixed maybe but theres way too many gameplay issues and performance issues.

As Rroff says, needs fixing 1st. But they are releasing a DLC 1st instead of fixing the game and releasing mod tools so it's not great at the moment. It's not bad but dont expect anything amazing in multiplayer, though the single player is quite good with some great sequences in it but im not sure it justifies it's price just yet. I mainly went and bought it on release because the rest of the clan did so.....
 
It's in drastic need of fixing, im also quite fond of the cod series but black ops has been a terrible let down. Sticking with bc2 mainly now, even the recent moh is better than black ops, and it's certainly not perfect.

hah I never expected that from Kotick! I played 30 mins of black ops and thought it was dreadful.... no contest to BF2 and neither was mw2 imo
 
Have you got Vietnam? It keeps you going for a bit longer and some of the maps are really good fun to play on and if that doesn't float your boat, BF:2 still has a lot of players.
 
I'd pass on Black Ops. I'd have got a refund or sold it on if it wasn't locked to my Steam account. Terrible performance on a PC that can run BC2 and Crysis at high framerates without breaking a sweat.
 
what you want from a fps game ?

unlike a lot of haters who just put it down for the hell of it i actually enjoy it :eek:

yeah its not cod 4 which is best recent cod but it does well at what it is a easy to pick up game with a large player base . there are a few bugs for some so read up be aware of what these maybe . just use the grey matter a little though and realize not everyone who ever played black ops has these problems ;)

red orchestra 2 should be out soon that may be more up your street if your prefer bf series. looking very good and original unlike a lot of fps games over last few years.
