Have I said otherwise? Quite clearly in my 1st post I said there's little I can do. My neighbour parking his car there has had some effects. People visiting me can no longer park where I live, and for the last 2 months his car, which is a dirty old heap, has become a bit of an eyesore. He has space outside his home. Why not park it there? I know it's not enshrined in law to park your car where you live but it is something that usually happens.Unless the space in front of your house is reserved, you have no more legal right to park their that anyone else.
Sorry, but the issue is with your own mindset here.
How much did you save by not having a dropped curb put in?grin and bear it and don't let it bother you. life is too short and there is nowt you can do so don't stress it.
half of our drive does not have a dropped kerb. most people don't park and block us in but sometimes some do. it's annoying and I kind of ask myself what sort of berk does that when it blocks a car in, I know I wouldn't esp as it's not like there is a fairly cheap car park literally around the corner.. but people just have to save £2 for a days parking. nothing I can do.

just tell him you have a large appliances to be delivered in next few days and if he can move his vehicle.
then park your car there, he wont know, job done.
Sounds like it was safer for you .I had to do this when I had mine as my "drive" was in front of their house.
...they got burgled three times for the keys.
how so? whilst a non dropped kerb means I do not automatically have a right of access I can't see how I am breaking the law. if I am then there are a lot of our neighbours doing it and the traffic warden ignores it (mind you they also ignore cars parked right on the junction )A brief look tells me that if they're parking in front of your drive and you don't have a dropped kerb... the one doing something illegal is you
our next door neighbour tried. and they were told too many other neighbours had had it done so it was rejected. How much did you save by not having a dropped curb put in?
Parking is so often a contentious issue. While the setup with our new place is a little unconventional it does mean that we'll never have to deal with blocked driveways or random eyesore vans and busses abandoned outside ever again.

actually you are right I just googled it. oh well like I said most of our neighbourhood does it and it is a victimless crime as I am not blocking the pavement (unlike plenty here who do)Probably means because you're driving over a raised kerb and onto a pavement.
