Nerds assemble! Raspberry pi close to launch date.

power

I wonder how power efficient these things are in terms of power/computation. Some kind of Rasberry Pi grid could pop up in short order if enough of these find their way into Universities.

Like some of you I can imagine this kind of thing becoming more pervasive in our homes/cars - though ill just wait for the home brew projects to get stable/documented before I shell out any money ;)

I expect they will be pretty efficient. AFAIK, the processor was designed for smartphones, so low power/high efficiency would have been one of the main priorities during design.

Is there a forum or community site where people are going to discuss what they're working on?

If they ever bolt another hamster to the server then the main forums are the place to go but its been down 80% of the week so far. Although many posts so far have been people asking for help and getting 'dunno, find out for yourself' as very helpful replies.

Building the case and sorting out power arrangements are more interesting to me then actual linux/coding.

Currently thinking a cube case with a internal battery supply and charging port with a small led fan at the top. The case will be a dark semi-transparent blue while the fan would be red led.
