Netflix to cut streaming quality in Europe for 30 days

what content was that ? the last kingdom series 4 still showing 1.8 mb - 2mb for me
Out of interest have you guys been checking your broadband speeds at the time of viewing? I've been on 7-14Mbps since March anyway for the entire house. So it's unlikely my TV has had the bandwidth available for the best profile.

Maybe explains tiny bitrates like 2Mbps.

whats the best way of testing it on the actual tv ? i get stupid results using web browsers like 3 mb download and 500mb up another spedtest site says 300mb down. i'm on the 200mb virgin media service.

downloaded an app to the tv called analiti that says 94mb down, think the tv can only do 100mb that's on a wired connection

laptop shows 147mb download.

It was Top Gear

ta that is showing 6.75mb for me at the moment

Good to see netflix still haven't put the bit rate back to its normal standard..... Guessing most people who complained about this still haven't cancelled their subscriptions either....

Thank god I cancelled mine 2 months ago, been thoroughly enjoying quality content on my PC through plex!

They still haven't put it back up? Glad I cancelled back in April. I'm not really missing it either, I've found other things to do haha!

You guys still getting issues with reduced bitrate? I have a samsung tv ive had for a few years (4k) and was getting 1mbps to netflix. happened to buy a new tv recently and now its getting 25mbps and netflix is back to 4k. Either the TV had an issue was entirely coincidental or they borked the app on that tv model.

just to clarify. looks like i get about 7.62mbps when streaming. I was talking about the network diagnostic page on the app with 25mbps.

Still weird, as the old TV never missed a beat since new and then pretty much at the same time as the reduction it was sooo slow

YouTube seems to be very up and down. Sometimes it automatically goes to 1080p/4k and other times it auto goes to 720p and I have to manually change it. Anyone else notice the same?

No idea myself but from reddit etc. people still complaining about it, apparently the restrictions have been lifted in Germany and a couple of other places.

Yeah, wonder if it's got something to do with how turd our network infrastructure is in this country compared to others in Europe.

Back up to full capacity now, watching 13 reasons why and it’s streaming at 15.25Mbps 2160p which I think was the same rate as before.

Not here

Just took that - LG B7 onboard app

Edit - side note ohhhh that contrast...

13 reasons why is showing at 15.25 Mbps on mine.

Space force is still at 7.62 Mbps so it must be show specific.

I noticed it was show specific when they started the bitpocalypse, Netflix originals weren't as neutered as other stuff...

Edit: Though they did pwn even Netflix original stuff by comparison to the standard bitrate prior to the bitpocalypse.

Although I've had a good picture (on a 1080p TV) the last couple on months, I've had a few issues watching certain programs.
For some reason, episodes of the The IT Crown go all blocky and stuttery every time I try to watch them to the extent I've given up watching them.
Other shows and films are fine.
Perhaps it's the Netflix server?
