Netflix vs Amazon Prime

Anyone else annoyed with the amazon instant video feature called "x-ray"?

It brings pop-up information from imdb about the film you are watching and takes up about 25% of the screen. It's infuriating when trying to watch anything on a tablet or computer.

ive previously always googled to find a dns but it doesnt seem to work anymore so was thinking of signing up to one of these unblockus type websites.

it says to do it on my tv but make sure ive done it on my computer too. does my computer always need to be on for it to work?

I've tried 6 unblockers in recent weeks and none of them work on my Smart TV, can get them to work on the PC but not sitting there watching a 2 hour film.

I've used unblock US for the last 2 years but even they are at a standstill with the new VPN blocks.

There are still ways around the region restriction if you've got the time and inclination to do it.

Have this on my tablet when watching in bed and it's brilliant. Anytime there is some music I want to identify, I tap the screen and it tells me what it is. Just tap the screen again to remove it.

I have an unblocker which is currently working with netflix but I can't see it working for too long with the way things are going.

Is it worth switching to prime? Is the UK selection any better than netflixs UK selection?

Not much in it tbh, Amazon Prime is definitely better value for money with the added benefits but in terms of movie and TV selection, i'd say they're on a par. Both have their own exclusives not available on the other, I just use them in tandem.

I got the alternate DNS from Unblock US but still not working. Have you managed to find a way so far via DNS?

well fired up netflix this morning and ran in to the proxy message, and to think im trying to watch longmire which is a sodding netflix own product using my subs to make it ?!

Prime is excellent. The streaming quality is the best i have seen and the content is very good. Now TV's streaming quality is laughable in comparison.

No limit on devices is great also, and that new information service that shows you exactly what actor(s) are on screen at that time with their full bio's etc is brilliant.

Amazon are doing it right in my opinion.

I had netflix a while a go and thought it was pretty rubbish, though granted it might be better now.

I put my card details in with now tv when I set up the trial and paid for a month entertainment. I then put a code in so it pushed my next payment date back 3 months. Last night the mrs added the sky movies code for 2 months. Can I then hit cancel straight away so we don't get billed for movies at the end of the 2 months?

Im thinking about cancelling netflix as well now, I have the fire TV box so I really need to make use of it still so I might give Prime a go.

Pondering cancelling Netflix when the price goes up (still on legacy pricing) what I pay at the moment is pretty much the top end of what I'd justify for what I get out of it any more - I simply have no reason to justify paying more.

just looking at the now tv, is it only £10 for the movies and £7 for entertainment? You can watch GoT and Walking Dead for UK premier as well, not wait?

Is Nat Geo on there for Gold Rush? Might have to bin Sky, only thing I watch really are a few series

It's discovery for gold rush, but yes. And all on OD as well
And after a month or two if you click cancel it nearly always throws you an offer.
So I'm paying £7.98 for both movies and entertainment till may so less than half price, then hopefully get another deal.

Live channels fir entertainment are
Sky1
Sky living
Sky Atlantic
Gold
Comedy central
Sky arts
ITV encore
Fox
MTV
Discovery

Then some kids ones.
