netgear wireless doesnt work

Same here..

I payed over £100 for router and over £40 for adapter..

Then they decide to drop the price of the adapter by over £13 the day after i ordered it...

I can't afford to keep buying adapters because they won't let me refund them...

I've had 2 adapters..

My first wireless set was ridiculous so i went back to wired..

This is fine now with all the new equipment..

PS3 works fine.. bros pc is connected via cable so thats fine.. only thing is.. i can never find a decent wireless adapter.. they are all ridiculously rubbish..

Did you add the device name & MAC address in the trusted wireless stations under the wireless access list ??

Like in this pic

Guys you dont need to do this it's just another feature for those who want high security it's nothing but a pain to be honest. As for the wireless is your XP all up to date? Whenever i format and re-install XP as well as Vista it always fails to connect to my wireless the first few times then it connects but disconnects randomly.

If it does connect why not set your IP and DNS manually?

Also have you tried messing around with the wireless channel? 6 is good for me on my netgear router.

This adapter is still not working as it should...

It connects fine and brings in all the correct infomation...

Then all of a sudden the connection just cuts off for no reason and it usually happens when i first start using it or just any time when i'm using IE..

When it happens i check all the settings and everything is still as it should be with I.P showing also...

Although for some reason the channel is now 1 and it used to be 3? I can't find anywhere to change it? Apart from on the router?

I have to restart about 15 times before it starts working and have to leave it off for about 5 minutes each time...

Please help!

Yes you set the channel you want on the router, and then you set your wireless card/adaptor to scan for which channel you have set your router to...(I have always used channel 6 on mine)

so what is your solution?

i just want to turn on my PC and connect to my wireless modem router...to save me running cables all over the house :)
Did you plug in your USB WN121T before you installed the drivers...I did this by mistake yesterday after i formated my windows install, and it give me loads of problems till i completely unstalled the drivers and started fresh again with the USB WN121T unpluged till the drivers were installed first..

I did all the installation correctly... I think i'll give the channel thing a whirl... It used to automatically pick up 3... :S

I'll come back and rant a bit more if i don't have any luck...

Bwwwwooooooyyyy!

Problem solved...

I just moved my pc back into my room and "Pur - Chased" a new 5m network cable :D

Now all i need to do is make a small hole in the wall when my dad brings the drill round and then buy WoW! woooooo

I've gone wireless twice and gone back to wired twice :D I'll never go wireless again wehey!
