New 24" iMac 2.8Ghz Extreme - Ordered

Quite right my mistake. Still better than a 6800 though and I'd expect it to perform well with recent games such as Bioshock even if you have to scale down some of the fancy effects...

I'm not lying, I pressed "OK" in CS3 and started the timer and waited until the dialog disappeared before stopping it :)

20 seconds by my calculations, I did this twice using my head as I didnt have a stopwatch - nor did me crappy phone have this feature..

I did elephant after each second ;)

Admittedly I used a flash-based timer in Firefox to time it.

So 2 or 3 seconds was probably lost whilst switching between apps ;)

(PS: This was done on a 17" MBP running on batteries.. so possibly slower clock speed?)

Ive just had a play with one of these new iMacs and to be honest Im very much in two minds. The thing looks nice but the keyboard doesnt go (fit with the style), the mouse doesnt go and the remote doesnt go or attach anymore. All bad things. The screen is far too reflective and it does seem to get a lot hotter than my previous version iMac and we were just watching trailers.

FYI: The remote doesn't stick to the new SR MBPs now either (I believe) :o

I agree with the keyboard, it looks decent on it's own but not with an iMac.

Interesting to hear about the heat.. was this a 24" model you tested?
