New 3 Sim only pricing

How is it rubbish, if people download excessive amounts routinely there will be a time that 3 will have to bump prices up or bring in FUP's like the other providers. There were people on these forums bragging about downloading 100GB+.

If it's an unlimited service, people can do what they want.
Three and others should charge enough to cover their costs.
If that means raising prices that's fine, the people who don't use unlimited can choose a lower package.

Three is obviusly happy, they have done this service for years and they are going to offer 4g at same price. Which as showen in other countries dramatically ups people's download usage.

am confused, so I can get a the one plan for 15 quid per month and enjoy unlimited tethering to my pc or tablet via a 3g sim modem or suitable smartphone to create a wifi spot?

Or there is a good chance they will add a fup or other restriction later on down the road....

Very unlikely they will add FUP, three have been offering this for ages and its their main marketing and differentiation from the bigger networks.

3G is not great for pc though, it still has high latency.

thanks good to hear, I did not notice too much bad performance with my 3g dongle.... seems to be fine for general surfing for the main part, hopefully would be the same with tethering to pc.

I should just point out the literature on the site hasn't been updated yet in line with the new pricing, so we don't know the fine print. But if your going to tether to pc, then do one month rolling, easier to get out off, if they do introduce something.

Wish they'd introduce some cheaper data only plans for tablets, still works out a better deal picking up 3 SIM cards off amazon that last three months. Would rather just have a rolling monthly plan than having to swap my sim every three months or when my data has finished!

It has never been truly unlimited. It's just a marketing term. They're relying on the average user to transfer a small amount of data per month.

Well it won't effect me as I won't be doing any p2p. Other then it's all good. For the price you can't go wrong.

Result....I called 3 over the weekend and managed to get my One plan to £15 keeping all the benefits as the previous plan. One proviso though I've had to take a 12 month contract which doesn't bother me as I didn't plan on leaving 3 anytime soon.

Hi guys, didn't want to create a new thread for such a simple question, so I thought bumping this would be a far better idea. Has TCB been updated for the new Three SIM-only plans? I only ask as quite a few of the plans that are no longer available (eg. Ultimate Internet SIM 600, both 1 and 12 months) are still appearing on the site. Thanks :)

i would go for this but the two areas i reside in dont get any signal at all! and there not exactly in the sticks............

Ive just moved from a £29 per month tmobile contract because it was at the end of the term to three on an £18 per month rolling contract using the one plan.

What I will say is that in all the areas ive used my phone for internet use and also doing speed tests that TMobile have been faster on most occasions but more erratic, the three speedtests have been consistently good.

I get mega minutes and rarely use them. Data and texts get hammered, but the new PAYG stuff from Three looks rather good.

edit: I read somewhere that Three have a cap for unlimited, but its around the 1TB mark. I myself use about 10GB per month, sometimes more.

They throttle at peak times if you download excessive amounts using p2p. There is no concrete number but I have seem reports of this kicking in at about 80gb per month.

Sorry to double bump, but does anybody know? Thanks all :)

I ordered the new "one plan" through Topcashback and its tracked at £65, so I don't see why not.
