It will have 32 TMU units and most likely 24 ROP's (if that one set ain't disabled for some reason). In that case this card would have 6,2% higher texel & pixel fillrate compared to 8800 Ultra. ALU-performance would be 8,3% higher than in 8800 Ultra
----

Compared to 8800 GT this cards texel fillrate is 23,8% higher, pixel filrate 62,5% higher. ALU-performance would also increase 23,8%

Saw the above link on vr-zone. Dunno if it has already been posted but there ya go. Some say 4 December is release date.

EDIT:

From the new 8800GTS pic we can prove that: the new G92 already integrate NVIO chip into the GPU. the old version stock cooler will not fit G92 anymore.

Then what about the new G92 version 8800GTS? Of course the G92 version 8800GTS still have 256bit memory interface, so they got 512MB and 1024MB two version. The date and the MSRP will be Dec. 3 and 2299CNY ( 308USD ) .

So, we got five different version of 8800GTS totally:

8800GTS G80 90纳米 96SP 320bit 320MB ( Integrated VP1 engine)

8800GTS G80 90纳米 96SP 320bit 640MB ( Integrated VP1 engine)

8800GTS G80 90纳米 112SP 320bit 640MB (Integrated VP2 engine) ( Nov. 19)

8800GTS G92 65纳米 128SP 256bit 512MB(Integrated VP2 engine)(Dec. 3)

8800GTS G92 65纳米 128SP 256bit 1024MB(Integrated VP2 engine)(Dec. 3)

Nvidia won’t launch Geforce 8800 GTS 512 cards based on G92 on the 3rd or 4th of December as many implied. The new date is the middle of the month, between 12th and 14th.

so should be priced around £200, going to be very interesting to see how much stronger it is than the GT.

the smug GT peeps might not be so happy in a few days if this card is faster than an ultra for not much more than a GT.

fascinating days ahead in the GPU world.

Im smug to, i knew the GT's prices were a high premium as they aint available, and that when stocks started flowing they would fall.

If i cared i wouldn't have bought one at a premium price.:p

The not happy ones will be

"I dont ******* believe it, GT's are now £150, i paid £200 for the ****"

"hang on a minute, you knew when you paid £200 that they were supposed to be around £150, and you were paying a premium because they were difficult to get hold of"

"erm, thats not the point".

To which id say, well it is as you knew. :D

Ye I saw that to, I'm pretty interested in these cards. Might actually buy these over the GT. Here in Holland the GT's from Club3D and Asus are 143 Pounds inc. vat so that's already pretty good but if these are that much faster I'll buy one of them.

These looks really nice

Was going to buy a 3870XT in the next few days but might hold out for one of these instead of the power of them is that much more for only £50 higher. Wonder when they are out for retail though, as my 2900 XT will be sold in a couple of days and if it's mid December i'll be without a graphics card for about a month :)

Anyone got any idea of the release date?

praise the lord!! finally some information on this card!! good job Vir. feel like ive been put outta my misery. lol
Be nice to know more accurate prices (GBP) but ive heard speculation of about 250-270. which sounds reasonable. considering i was about to purchase 2 GT's and a new SLI Mobo. ha.
Roll on december (looks like my christmas present buyin budget just took a big cut. lol.

Current rig.........
E6600 @ 3.2
Abit AB9 mobo
4gb corsair value 667 ram (@700 ish)
Gainward bliss 8800 gts 320mb golden sample
320 HD
19" asus widescreen monitor.

So probably first week in december we'll see them. That's not too bad really, now we just need a solid UK price :) If it's $349, then half that and adding 40% due to UK tax brings it to about £210, but that seems cheap consider the GT is at £170 - £210, so maybe £240 ish?

Ohh this is what I've been looking for. Shame there's no solid release date yet though. Buy the GT now for £200 (superclocked) or wait 3 or 4 weeks for the new GTS for (I'm guessing) about £270.

We need some official news and benchmarks :P

i don't think it'll be that high, you gotta remember that the GT is quite a bit over RRP right now.

i think 210-230 sounds about right, maybe slightly more on launch seeing how gouging is popular.

point is GT's should only be £140 with pre-oc top end ones being £170.

Only problem I can see is that due to high demand, the fact they are faster than an Ultra at stock speed etc then the price of £210-£230 will go up by at least £50 as retailers cash in on supply and demand.

In fact if they do deliver the goods as far as performance goes and oc to more than 700Mhz you might even see retailers charging a £100 premium.

In fact there is one uk retailer with stock of the EVGA SCC 700/2000 8800GT but he wants £300 inc VAT per card

Plenty of people would pay £300+ for an Ultra beating card when £300 is what a vanilla GTX costs.

I can see the 2nd hand market in GTX plummeting in December though ;)

256 memory interface? they're kidding right?

One reason for not getting the GT is the 512mb of memory, my 2 year old 7900GTX has a 256mb interface and 512mb of RAM FFS.

I need more RAM for my 24" baby.

I really hope this isn't true, because it means that if they bring out a G92GTX, will that also have a 256 interface?
