New AMD Build Approx £2,000 budget help please!

Thanks :) I was originally thinking about the LG 27GL850-B quoted above but now the price has shot back up not sure what to look at.

Any other suggestions? not sure what would suit the games I want to play. I don't want something that won't be good for FPS for example as may get into those at some point. Don't want to narrow my options before I've started. :D

pick some from that list and google them to see how much they are in the UK

they didn't rate it that highly.
not sure if srs.
have a look at the scores on your list and compare with the pixio

also 165hz doesn't make much of a noticeable difference over 144hz or 120hz. but there is a massive difference between 120hz and 60hz. it's the law of diminishing returns. i have a 165hz and i don't really notice the difference coming from a 144hz.

The Pixio PX7 Prime and the ASUS VG279Q are very similar overall, but the ASUS is better for gaming. The PX7 Prime has a higher native resolution and a higher refresh rate, and it supports HDR, but this doesn't add much. The ASUS VG279Q, on the other hand, has better ergonomics, a slightly faster response time, and an optional black frame insertion feature.

I'm just saying this monitor is only £280 and scores just as well although it's 1080p which OP might want to pay the extra £130 for the PX7 to get 1440P. The ones I linked to were all budget gaming monitors that are much cheaper that is why they score less.

Then he's probably best looking at that list if he is wanting to spend more.

ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ - £450

8.1 vs 7.9

yeah for 450 notes i'd get that too. seems to have come down in price nicely...used to be £480-500 previously
just need to know op's final combi to see if the extra £50 is within budget or not (i should hope so)

Getting there now :)

One more question not decided on CPU had the 3700x but someone suggested the 3600x is there much of a difference for gaming? also should I discount the 3600? I know a lot of people say value wise go for the 3600 (I wouldn't mind saving a few £) haha.

If you wanna save pennies then yeah the 3600 is a great CPU and will not hold your GPU back. Used the 3600 in 3 of my friends builds this year, runs a dream (and I use a 3600X myself with a 2070S it's spot on)

The 3700X just may help be more future proof with the extra cores/threads. That said you could always upgrade to a Ryzen 4000 CPU and sell the 3600 if you ever felt like you needed more grunt. Which is what I plan to do if needed. :)

Cheers I see the 3600XT has just been released aswell so confusing! Haha

Spend less, build twice, and get better results. Sound good?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC 3X Video Card
Case: NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Sans monitor, with a random case ~£70-80 you are looking at a total spend for the system of around £1120. I just set up a ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD for a guy, as he wanted cheap 144Hz 1440p IPS and it is great, the only thing letting it down is the stand, but at £300 it was/is a bargain.

Throw in a Ryzen 4xxx and a better board if needed in 12-18 months time, you'll still have spent less but end up with better results.

Also local to you so if you get stuck building it, let me know. :D
