New AMD Build Approx £2,000 budget help please!

Hi Guys,

me again thanks for all your help previously pc is running perfectly!

What would be a good upgrade (but not overkill) for my cpu? thinking of upgrading as a friend wants the 3600.

CPU's are kinda expensive right now unless you bag an offer/misprice. 5800X would be the logical choice, 8c/16t and Zen3 based, but you are looking at £380+. Ask yourself what benefit will you get right now, also you may see a price drop in the next 8-12 weeks as more and more stock is becoming available.

Cheers for advice maybe I'll wait a bit then. I noticed even 3600s are more expensive at the moment.

The only missing part from his build sadly.

New system hes got all the other parts though just a cpu missing hes got a b450 tomahawk mobo to put it on.

Think he's looking to pick something up around 12th April hopefully gives the market a couple of weeks to stabilise a bit more I guess. :D

Hmmm... well if he's already got all the other parts then I'd keep your eyes open for a good deal either for you, or for him. Seems weird spending £170 on a 3600 now, and at the same time until the 5600X is at a sensible price it is even more weird. He could have bought a 10th Gen Intel system if he didn't already have the parts. :(

Yeah tbh hes done well most of the parts are mates parts hes had as they've upgraded. Think he's only bought the mobo, case and psu New.

That Citadel case looks good. I'm thinking of building a PC as well, as for the case I'm debating that case and the Thermaltake S100, but the S100 lack any front dust filters, I guess the Citadel front mesh acts as a dust filters so I'm more leaning into picking the citadel.

Yep it's a good case especially for the price also get dust filters on the top and under where the psu sits.
