New Antec HCG Pro ATX3.1 80+ Platinum PSUs available at OCUK and reviewed by Kitguru

Don't balls up like me and miscount cable requirements. Just realised I cant connect my little icue hub in the case as I don't have any spare 8(6+2) cables! Only get x3 with this Psu. Emailed Antec see if they can do spares. Doh. No case fans for me. :cry:
I've not even looked what cables I have connected currently but I shall do now!!

I must admit I really like the individual sleeved cables rather than what my old seasonic psu had, which was all the cables in one sleeve and then heat shrunk at each end. As it made it impossible to bend. These things are super flexible. It has meant that where the PSU sits now, there is more room and the cables tuck in nicely. All the connectors at the PSU end are nice and straight and not being pulled out of shape. Happy days.

That looks great! Definitely on my to buy list but just spent my PSU money on a steamdeck. My current PSU works fine, just a bit of coil whine...

I installed mine yesterday. Pretty nice and quite happy with the cables they provide. Good quality.

Still not finished my build so barely used it.

Hi, I’ve just scored an msi 5080 and need a new psu to support it and I’m thinking of getting the 1200 too, how are you finding yours? Are you coil whine free?

So my current power supply is a Seasonic Focus Plus 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular bought from OC back in 2018.
This one to be specific: Seasonic 750. Excuse my ignorance but I take it that it will not be sufficient for the MSI 5080 16G Ventus 3x OC and I definitely need to get a new PSU?
The other kit in my rig is a 5800X3D and a few SSDs, NVMEs.
I'm considering buying a 57" Samsung and am currently rocking an old Dell 38" (running 4K@75Hz OC).

In theory a decent 750 should be sufficient to handle a 5080 (nvidia recommend 850 for the FE), but I believe the particular model you own did have some issues with the power spikes of modern cards, so perhaps just as well that you upgraded.

I've been lucky and had no issues with the current PSU at all, but am aware of the complaints regarding it. Thanks for confirming my purchase is a good one!

@Ace Modder
Is the 1200W model I purchased definitely compatible with the RTX5090 I have on pre order ? I asked because there's some debate over the 12VHPWR cable on the 5090 on the net and here, see the comment mentioning Seasonic which these PSUs appear to be built on -

PSU arrived safe and sound, thanks OCUK. Now hopefully the 5080 shows up and I've got enough connections available!
