Definitely am tempted by the top spec 27". I had considered a mac pro and using my two existing 22" screens but this may be a better option. The most intensive thing I would do is HD Video editing and virtual machines. Also would plan to run a few games in bootcamp. Would there be much advantage of using mac pro over this new imac?
I can't believe how expensive the i5 model is. There's basically £700 woth of hardware in it and they're selling it for £1400 and that's with a discount! You'd have to be mental to buy one.
Reckon the mouse will be available in store tomorrow? Might wander in with out of date student card to try and blag a discount! Can I get discounts on peripherals?
I just spoke to the Lakeside store and they said they're going to have them in "by Friday", he said that means they could have them any day between now and Friday. It's worth buzzing your local store.
Well in theory the base £1900 mac pro is actually slower strangely. I suspect it'll be very comparable in real life though. So unless you're going to spend some additional cash upgrading the mac pro then it's not worth considering it really.
I've always said the mac pro is a workstation and as such only buy it if you need a workstation...
Thanks Feek
Will pop into Arndale store tomorrow to see if they have them and if I like it!
Makes it not a bad little machine in which case as the display was my primary issue with the last gen Macbooks...Seems that the new MacBook now has the same screen as the Pro according to Macworld.
