New Apple Hardware - Today?

Here you go, new HE store prices.

Thanks for the HE prices dude...I was thinking I'd have to wait til I go to uni to find out :)

I think the Mac Mini is now the best priced machine, however I do see why the iMac's are so pricey. Someone stated that it uses a £600 screen, but I suspect in real world costs, it's probably worth more than that because it's LED backlit.

I think it's just a real shame that Apple have gotten rid of the 24". The 21.5" is too small for me and the 27" is too big.

It's nice that they make a point of saying that the iMacs have IPS panels in the tech specs. IPS screens rock.

Only because since the first alu iMacs they downgraded to a **** TN panel in the 20" version whilst upping the price. Easier to add it into the marketing now they can't be seen to be cutting corners :p

i'm most excited about the new imacs

they are very reasonably priced and look fantastic. especially with the larger displays

i AM going to get one, oh yes :)

Woohoo! Definitely going to be going for one of those Imacs if I pass my exams and get my bonus.

How much better is the ATi 4670 than the nVidia 9400M? I don't need the extra hard disk space, so that's the only real benefit in the £1,200 model over the £950 one. I am planning to get back into PC gaming though, so it's still tempting, unless the 4670 is barely better than the 9400M.

EDIT: Apple say the 4670 is twice as good as the 9400M on CoD4. I'll probably go for that then.

Also not impressed with that new Magic Mouse... I don't want to have to lift my finger off to do a right click.

looks like it is quite a good improvement over the 9400 (only shows the 9500 here though)

Then buy one? They look ace now!
I can't believe how expensive the i5 model is. There's basically £700 woth of hardware in it and they're selling it for £1400 and that's with a discount! You'd have to be mental to buy one.
Uh, they've packed it into a tiny casing, it has a 27" LED backlit screen behind it, comes with an OS pre-installed, as well as iLife and a slot-loading drive on the side. How isn't that worth it? Have you a comparison that shows this to be £700 as I'd love to see it.

Now, I'm not usually one to defend Apple's pricing but you really do talk a lot of erm, rubbish :p

Compare it like for like with similar machines and it's a fantastic deal, even compared to a normal desktop with that kind of spec and a 27" IPS LED backlit screen it's still not at all bad.

In fact, for the same spec desktop with moderately priced components comes to about £1350. I'd take an iMac any day for £50 more.
