new Astra website

Really like the look of it, hopefully Vauxhall carry on in the same vein of improvements with the new Astra as with the Corsa / Insignia. When are they due to hit the streets? Hopefully work will get a few although no doubt will be a 1.3 CTDi's. :D

Oh.My.God. *wants*

Any idea of a price yet, and who do I need to sleep with to get that kind of money? :D

I like that looks quite understated but upon close inspection has some nice detail.

The outgoing astra was probably one of the best looking hatches in 3 door form, are they doing a 3 door of this one.

It's another of those awful Auto Express Photoshops, but it's about the best I could find :-

New Astra 3 Door, the VXR.

Steady on its a Vauxhall Astra not an Aston Martin?

Yes but I could never afford an Aston Martin, and have wanted an Astra for a while.
Terribly sorry for showing some enthusiasm and trying to inject a bit of humour.

I really like the look of that. Has hints of the Audi A3 in places, which is no bad thing.

i noticed that, the interior door handle is similar.

I quite like the interior, and, hopefully it's a very big step up from the Mk4 driving wise, i found driving the Mk4 was very sullen, and this was when i owned a diesel Mondeo, the 1.6 SXi was boring to drive in every possible way, i hated the interior, but that's a personal opinion.

Fox was talking from an 'enthusiast' point of view, and lets be honest, an enthusiast isn't going to buy a a mk4 diesel astra is he, i won't disagree that it's a reliable, economic car, but it's not to everyones taste.

3 door is launching around mid next year.

'It was cheap on petrol and did not break' = 'the car was the perfect white good' = 'the car sucks from a motoring enthusiasts perspective'.

Well, according to your equation, your car must 'suck from a motoring enthusiasts perspective' because it produces 39mpg and doesn't break :D

The Mk4 Astra especially is offensively generic and nasty in stock form. It stands for everything bad about motoring and explains why most of the population hate driving.

I suppose the most surprising thing about mk4 Astra is that, for all its undeniable generic nastiness and blandness it remains the most popular car Opel made. So much so, that GM dedicated half a factory to mk4 Astra and it is still being manufactured and sold on continent, despite mk6 being already on production line... In the same, unchanged, underpowered, underspecced format, complete with 13 sec to 60 performance and town bus grey cloth seats as the only option.

exterior seems a step back from the current model, which in 3dr is the best looking hatch :]
