New bits for my mowta!

I'm about to get two new tyres, only had them since April :(

Some people don't drive their cars hard enough tbh :p

I try to kill them, but they wont die. :(

Anyways the fronts will go on the rear and live on for many miles.

Looks great. And I like the strut brace just as it is. I don't mind the hole of doom either, it isn't that bad.

LMAO, that made me laugh :D

Yeah, because it sucks little kids and kittens in when I'm caining it!

Thinking of removing the passenger foglight and getting some ducting down there for when I get a cone filter and move the battery to the boot.

I reckon the 'hole of doom' would look better with black mesh. Less noticeable and still provide a function.

Neill's old seats I see, he got rid of them as his and my heads would touch the roof with out helmets on lol.

:p

:D haha yeah, he was telling me about that... and then said "You won't have that problem as you're small" :(

He did buy some full leathers, but they didn't have the height adjuster so were no good for him.

You say the new seats are more supportive, look fairly close to the old ones which are pretty damn good when the belt hugs you in.... or is it because your tiny and got lost in the middle of the bucket bit :p

Im in two minds about mine at the moment, rear ARB should be fixed this week, thinking of getting the garage to do my sump gasket (oil obviously changed too), new plugs and i need a rear wiper motor or something as its bust and has been for a while (stuck in the middle of the rear screen....).

Im tempted to get it lowered on new shocks and get all the brushings done, and a front strut brace but its a fairly big expense, im not sure how elephant are with mods, and im not sure i can get off my drive if i drop it without it scraping (40mm is the usual). I would still like a new front wing as despite getting mine bent out its not 100% perfect, the bonnet isnt flush all the way along and my starter is still a PITA and doesnt always turn over first time....

Oh and wait until you get some decent tyres on it, in the dry i have some grip ill tell you! :D

Edit: Is it just me/my driving, or does yours DRINK fuel like nobodies business....

The old seats were very supportive, but the ZR seats are just incredible! The lumbar support is much more apparent and you can really feel the side bolsters working when you chuck the car about.

Depends on how long you plan to have the car for. If you won't have it for very long (as I know you want a tubby) I wouldn't spend any major money on it, as the GSi's are so understated nobody wants them. They go for peanuts.

Elephant are pretty good with mods. It's an extra £68 a year for my wheels and exhaust. Can't remember how much they said for my suspension.

Get to the scrappers for a wing and new starter and what's wrong with your bonnet, because mine is exactly the same. New tyres will probably come next month... but all depends if I get this new job I'm after.

Mine is pretty good on fuel if you're careful with the loud pedal. Can normally get around 80 miles to a tenner if taking it easy, 100 to a tenner on a motorway run... hooning along though and you can kiss your money goodbye :(

I do want a tubby but i also know as soon as i spend money on it ill get 6 points and bye bye license :(

Going to keep it until next May/June definatly as it has to last me while im at university and ive got my all important 1 years license+NCB.

I believe its just the wing that is slightly warped so it doesnt sit flush with the bonnet, the gap is about 5mm at the top and 10mm at the bottom.

As for the starter im not sure whats wrong with it tbh, if its a new starter i need, or if the ring gear is worn down and thats whats causing the problem, ive done plenty of miles so its just an irritation that it doesnt always want to start, but wouldnt mind getting it fixed..

There is another way of driving? :p

Just wish that 5th was longer/had an extra gear for the motorway as it really uses the fuel there, 65/70 is too boring for long periods of time while being economical ill die of bordom doing that speed.....

What you have done up to now looks pretty good anyway, ive not 100% made my mind up about what i can see myself driving next year, if i was certain i would have another rover i would have no problem modding it knowing that in 9-10 months time i could whip the suspension and bits off and put them straight onto a new car....

Looking good Andy, not 100% sure on the seats, i'll have to see them IRL to decide properly :)

APart from that, nice progress...and get that CV boot sorted, its been months!

I echo that statement, I got a whole reconditioned driveshaft (that I didnt need but thats a different story!!!) for £40! No point faffing around with CV boots and joints for that price I reckon.

I spotted it when we were working on his car on the day before the RR day :/

And it'd been like that for a good few weeks before I came to yours Ben :o

The split is quite bad now, with there being a good 1/3 of the gaiter ripped. I just keep topping up the grease until I can get it fixed. Think it needs a new wheel bearing too so will get them done at the same time.

Just starting to panic a little bit about the short time until the MOT and there's loads to do and very little money to do it with :(

Is there a noise coming from the same side? chances are its the wordn CV joint, is it only happening when you turn right and put on the power?

Noise sounds like it's coming from the other side.

It used to be only when I put my foot down, but it's also audible at certain speeds when you come off the gas.

Does it if the car's going straight on and doesn't get worse around bends. So it's either wheel bearing, CV or gearbox. Gearbox has been whining since I bought it (quite normal for the PG1's) but this other noise has only started recently.

Cheers for the offer... but knowing my luck, something would break properly on my way down to yours :D Although the route I took last time, the roads were awesome

Wouldn't mind trying those again with my brace in.
