New build advice - Flight Simulator ready PC

So I am about to order - which is exciting. So much help here as always.

Just thinking ahead with regards to fan location and the install.

As the case (Lian Li Lancool 2) has 3 fans at the front as intakes, and I am fitting the Arctic Liquid Freezer ll RGB 240 at the top as an exhaust. Would this give enough balance / performance in terms of cooling. Or should I maybe add another exhaust to the rear and some more intakes to the base? (have seen installs with 2 extra above PSU's - but am not convinced by this) Any advice here would be helpful. Any suggestions of what extra fan/s to use ?

And from what I have read the connection to the Asus Prime Z690 in terms of both Fans and RGB's should be pretty straight forward with the array of headers. Is this the case ? .
I just need to work out which is which - have downloaded Prime manual and am trying to get to grips with it.
And do I need any further splitters or adaptors.

Thanks

I would leave front 3 intake, just do the two fans on aio as outtake... That will leave positive pressure in the case so dust wont be drawn in, rather air pushed out... See how temps are before adding more... Dont know the case that well so no idea if comes with a fan controller... Otherwise just count how many fan power headers are on motherboard.. My aio they all went to a splitter that came with aio on plugged into board... My other fans went into a controller that plugged into usb header on board

Just about to order and noted PSU seems to have gone up in price, I was going to go with the Corsair RM850 - but it is now £119.99.
A reminder this is to power a ASUS Prime Z690 / i5-12600KF / RTX 3080 (eventually) - should I go with this or is there an alternative anyone can recommend please. I was working with the logic of 850W giving me a good ceiling for the future but will be guided is 750w is ok. Thanks.

You can get the 2021 rm850 for £99.97 on offer at mo, but not at ocuk.. They have both white and black

Hopefully last question (last famous words), I read on the cooler forum on here that the Arctic Liquid Freezer ll RGB 240 might need to have the cover removed or swapped to fit the Asus Prime Z690. However on the Arctic website it only mentions it interferes with the Asus Aorus. Can anyone shed any light on isses with the Prime board ?

Haven't seen thread or read anything similar about it. If you've seen ask on that thread, and if you could link that would be great. Would like to read

I think it was this one:https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/lga-1700-coolers.18940558/page-3

From what I saw elsewhere it showed that the fan cover needs to be removed (its does not affect performance) for it to fit a variety of Asus motherboards, it listed various Asus cards (Prime / ROG).

Will post on the cooling thread, just thought someone here might of experienced this.

A little bit further on he puts this...so you can ring actric and they will send you a replacement cover. Either that or change aio's if you're not happy, but the prime Z690 P Wifi D4 isn't on the list. https://support.arctic.de/lf2-lga1700 is the page on arctic website..samer link below actually after checking

Ah - they are only listing the non WiFi version. I guess that has maybe a different construction. Will carry on as planned then.

A final question - I did look at the option of O/C building this for me (I have decided I will give it a go) and they advised that the memory of chosen (32GB Patriot Viper steel 3600) could be unreliable and I should consider Corsair or Crucial. Do you think I should change memory ?

Depends if you want to spend the money, or just looking at budget. I'm running corsair pro vengeance rgb 32gb (2 x 16) 3600C18... , my previous build I've had crucial, so no knowledge of the patriot viper, it's just cheaper...if you change, shop around..ocuk price for corsair stuff is more expensive than at other outlets..you can get my ram for £129 away at the mo(I paid £170 at the time when OCuk were charging £229), and they still charging £169.99..listed it below. Don't know why
the crucial has better timing being 3600C16, but recent hardware unboxed 10 game av 1440p fps between diff ram modules spanning 3000C16 up to 4000C18(roughly) showed a 1 fps difference between them. Crucial was sold out at the time, but the non rgb is £169, rgb version £179 which is expensive seeing as a month ago they were £129/£139 odd...but that's crucial putting price back up, and I don't think worth paying for a 1fps difference.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £178.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

Actually just seen the new corsair designed ram in white for £125 on offer, which will go well with the asus board..trying to upload a picture to imgur and so can post

the white new version £125 for 32gb atm on offer...it's what I'd get at mo(black £137 for new look), but then I like the rgb as previous had none, so just a change andf pc sits on desk next to me
