New Build Approx £2000 budget AMD?

basically you'd want your operating system and all your programs on the ssd - this is the thing that will make your system feel snappy and responsive.
and also depends on how you see it, some people like to segregate their data, some won't.

the reason to get 2 drives is that the 2nd drive will be the mass storage drive, where you store all your big data files such as porn pictures and video files.
this drive doesn't have to be a fast ssd. a normal hdd will do...so can save some money there...if that's what's required to meet the budget.
one big 2tb nvme ssd for ~£280 vs one 1tb nvme ssd (£150) and one 1tb hdd (£40) - the price difference is ~£100

another thing to consider is the risks of potential failure:
1 drive = all data lost if it fails
2 drives = half data lost if it fails, but double the chance of failure since there's 2 drives involved
(but as always, backup, backup, backup)

(of course there's other things like RAID with running 2 drives...but i won't get on to that)

Guess it's something you can always add in at a later date anyway!

I really think it's worth squeezing in an Ultrawide monitor when you are on this sort of budget, it is the only thing you can's upgrade or change once you've committed, and it makes playing games way more immersive due to the peripheral nature of our vision.

Feel free to pop over if you get stuck since it is your first build, @tamzzy will tell you I'm not a (complete) nutter. :)

Thanks buddy that's really kind.

Any recommendations on ultra wide monitor? :)

I only have first hand experience with the Alienware AW3418DW and the Acer Predator X34P, both of which are really nice screens. It's worth looking at the pricing however, as those are both pretty expensive unless you catch them on offer, but there are plenty of options if you are willing to go VA/MVA instead of IPS. It is a hard choice to make, and it is worth spending time shopping around to find a good deal on a monitor, just like you would for a TV. :)

No worries, splashing 2K out on kit and having nothing to check with or test if you think you have done something wrong can be nerve wracking at best, not to mention lack of experience or knowledge to call upon, other than asking on the forum and maybe waiting 4 hours for an answer. :)

@Journey it's like watching someone smear turd all over the screen when the frame rate drops... :(
literally a blurry mess...

lol

personally, IPS or TN, VA is automatically excluded.
