did you end up ordering either one in the end? I take it they were pre-built systems, as some of the components, such as the HX1200i, seem like massive overkill. A 1070 with 32gb of ddr4, and an i7 seem at odds with a 1080p tn display.

Total price was £2300 (including £150 monitor, free chair & razer chroma keyboard.). all done through the overclockers selection process. In terms of the monitor, I'm not too fussed, will upgrade to dual monitors eventually. The system was the main factor

Too late now ha, people say about upgrading ram, then downgrading, upgrade this, hen someone else says downgrade that. I guess there's no right or wrong build, and in terms of ram I can always click it on. It's no biggie. It's a first computer and I only play one or two games.

If there was any major issues I'm sure overclockers would have pointed them out to me, there might be a few snag issues but it will all be good :) the memory issue? I've never met anyone that's went over 500gb so the memory should be an issue.

The motherboard and processor, I went with Ryzen as someone suggested it, and the motherboard was just the top option available. Maybe a snag issue? But it's no big to me.

I'll put this into context.. I've been using a MacBook for the last three years. I'm not doing a pro build, only a mid level entry build, maybe if I get into the pc I might buy a better one in a year or two but we'll see. Thanks very much for everyone's help putting this together, a lot of people have input on this forum and other threads x

-There is definitely right and wrong builds
-Overclockers wouldn't point out that you chose slow RAM. I'm sure they'd build you a pistachio with a heatsink on it if you wanted one.
-I've used my entire 3TB storage capacity just for game installs. I have hundreds of games.
-It's not too late to contact them (phone is faster) to swap the RAM to 3000Mhz. It takes them 2 seconds to do the work and another couple of minutes to configure in bios and test.

You also don't need anywhere near a 1200W psu. A good 750W would be plenty for SLI or 550W for a single gpu.

I would have also gone with 16GB 3000MHz Ram instead of 8GB 2400MHz.

A soundcard is also a bit of a waste. The onboard is very good these days.

Also for purely gaming the R5 1600 would have been fine.
