Guys I got the new mobo today what's your thoughts on using the same thermal paste? Or would I have to clean it off the processor and heatsink and reapply?
I'm lazy Nz used vodka and kitchen roll. Wiped first then used roll with vodka the. Another sheet .
Not what you should do but meh . Haha
In future, lighter fluid (naphtha in the States) is £1 and works pretty well. Follow up with a clean bit of kitchen roll or coffee filter if you're very concerned.I was thinking of vodka but I played it safe and got alcohol wipes containing isopropyl alcohol which apparently are perfectly suitable for removing thermal paste.
You can use it and just have the Activate Windows watermark if you want. There are options in marketplaces for very reasonable prices. Most tech channels seem to suggest they are legitimate (and explain why).
