New build

Yeah , got ram in there too , the obsidian800d already has the stands off in place , not connect directly yet to the monitor , I just put the stock heatsink on powered up and the fan does not even turn...

First thing I want to say with this thread is Stulid helps tremendously and I had a very similar thread very late last year. And everything everyone said was all great but I was in the same predicament.

I have one question for you, Are you using extension cables, for example pre-braided cables? There is a good reason for this question.

Stulid has been amazing , the only extension i am using is the 4pin power thing to the top of the mother board as the one one the psu is not long enough

Try this,

Remove the RAM
Power ON
Power OFF
Place a single stick of RAM in the last slot furthest from the CPU
PowerON..anything?
Power OFF and move this RAM one slot closer, repeat and rinse.

Build the basics outside of the case on the motherboard box,

Motherboard
Stick of RAM
CPU and heatsink
PSU

And short the two pins again.

Ok, I have done all of the above, tried the trick with the ram, taken everything out of the case and as above placed it all on the motherboard , shorted it and the same thing happens :(

So its out of the case and on a box.

CPU+heatsink connected to the CPUFAN header
Stick of RAM
PSU connected with the 24pin and 8pin ATX to the board

And thats it? your not using any cable extensions? power surge /extension leads from the wall socket? no drives connected?

Pull out the 24 pin connector, then short the battery pins to discharge the capacitors and then clear the CMOS then put back in after you clear cmos.

As before with a screw driver.

Also short the two power sw pins to completely drain the board with power removed and battery out.

Ok so I got my replacement motherboard today, awesome service from overclockers !! However all installed fine except my hydro h100 , which for some reason would not fire up the fans on the radiator , so I will be sending that back , so I the mean time I am using the stock heatsink that came with my i5 , so will this fan cope until I get a replacement hydro?
