Master tech under 25? Always thought the master techs were the old experienced ones. Guess that's not how it works.

He was the youngest in the country to achieve it. It's based on a ton of exams.

Well the TT has next to no back seats.

Fox - just spoke to my brother, he became master tech at age 20.

Blimey, I always had visions of it being the 50 year old guy who had been there 30 years, nice going for 20

Might be more commonly the older guys who work in the dealerships. My brother was taken on as an apprentice at the HQ in Milton Keynes, so was likely quicker than a dealership.

I would go for the TT. I wish I had the opportunity to get such good deals lol. Also regarding back seats depends whether you mean for passengers or just storage.

Occasional passengers and sometimes require to put the back seats down to put bigger things in the boot.

Definitely, the Leon was great. I'd have no issues having another on the scheme.

Is there no way to get this scheme to offer you better cars? They all seem to be small hatchbacks?

If so, are you not tempted by something outside this rather narrow definition?

There are larger cars, but sometimes they aren't the best spec/performance. I'm a fan of hatches as it happens.

I am tempted, but the sensible part of me likes to keep the price around a certain point and not get carried away.

First proper drive this morning! Liking the 7k red line and it pulls pretty well, plenty of grunt at 185ps. Noticed that it has quite a bit of torque steer.

Some nice cars in the car park at the HQ, lots of them for Audi Driving Experience.

TTRS, RS6 Golf R.

Out of shot was R8, another RS6 and TTRS.

Next car has been confirmed, I didn't get my first choice this time. I guess they don't see too much demand for the Sirocco.

So next up will be the Seat Leon 5dr FR 2.0TDI 184ps 6-speed DSG in White.

Should be interesting comparing against the 1.8TFSI 180ps 7-speed DSG previous.

So it's that time again, the A1 goes back on 2nd April and I collect my next Seat Leon. The fun part now, choosing the next car.

It's been made easier this time round - I knew I wanted a bigger car than a hatch and luckily the new Passat is available. So, the best Passat on the list is:

Passat Saloon R-Line 2.0 TDI 190 6 speed DSG £156/month

That will be my first choice in white. Weirdly it only comes in grey/silver/black/white.

For my second choice I was a little torn, because I really want the Passat and wanted to keep the monthly cost around ~£150, so I opted for:

A3 Saloon 2.0TDI Sport 150 S tronic £138/month

I'm sure the 150ps is enough for my needs and it's a pretty car and quite new. Colour will be grey.

I should be OK with the Passat as my first choice, they are limited to 25 which is a healthy amount for a single month.

Yea it's extremely good value, considering the other perks that come with a new car like warranty, no service, tax and tires. The usual costs you'd have to pay for.

A1 goes back tomorrow, it's been a good 6 months but I'm looking forward to getting back in the Leon.

It's a very nippy car considering it's power of 185ps it manages to just squeeze under 7s 0-62, no doubt helped by the 7 speed DSG. It does struggle to put the power down in the first 2 gears if you don't ease it in but after than it just goes. 7k red line and twin charged provides a good power delivery which is effortlessly applied in sport mode. I didn't find myself using the paddles but I'm a lazy driver!

Overall I think it's a good little car, but for me it's too small and the ride isn't as refined when I'm not having a spirited drive. Interior is finished nicely in the black edition with a variety of decent materials used. The media system isn't the latest version and has issues with displaying tracks from my iPhone, not what you'd want from a car build in 2014.

I've done 5,000 miles since owning it and unfortunately had at some point slightly kerbed one of the alloys. I should get away with not having to pay for repair as I believe 1 minor repair is covered FOC.

Won't be ordering another but glad I gave it ago. Now time for something bigger in the Leon then hopefully even bigger in the Passat.

Here's a pic from today. I have to say the colour was a good choice I think.

They're fine :) that rear wheel in the photo was the one I kerbed and it was only very minor scuff.
