and why is more track usage competitive? there are a few track car owners here who do it for fun not as competition, arent there?
why are we stopping at an Elise? A seven style kitcar with a meaty engine will wipe the floor with one.
I bought the induction kit very cheap off ebay, compared to new anyway (£120 off new price) but it didn't come with a cold air feed. So it was sucking in extremely hot air off the manifold/rad (loss in power but glorious sound). I eventually got round to getting a cold air feed fitted, it arrived today in fact, which means no more nice sound, but there's a noticeable difference in performance now its sucking in cold air from outside.
Why? Just like any other car enthusiast, i want to get the best performance I can from my car. Its sad that when ever someone modifies a small hatchback like this, they automatically get labelled a chav.
you keep mentioning performance - how much performance is that induction kit actually going to free up? and £120 off? how much was it???
huge waste of money imo
Either way no one on here gets dissed for driving a pretty boring barge.

People can spend hundreds of pounds on exhaust systems for only a possible gain of 5 bhp ~
It is yes, but that wasn't my point. It doesn't matter if someone spends £60 on an induction kit for 2bhp, or £400 on an exhaust system for 5bhp, its all relevant to taking each step to achieving the final goal, more power.I'm pretty sure thats what you are intending to do?
Its not all about BHP aswell, and not all modifications give you big power like a turbo for example, you have to do the small stuff tooHorses for course but i wouldnt, havent touched a thing on my car. It's too slow and getting an induction kit wont change that, its just money down the drain.
thats where we differ if i even thought about spending a couple hundred quid on modifying what is a luke warm hatch (it really is, its barely any quicker than my xsara) than id just put that money towards a better car in the first place lol. £500, for 10hp.....not for me
This thread annoys me, all the guy has done is put on an induction kit.
With regards to tracking. Have a look at the amount of Nova's/Corsa's that used to/get tracked and tell me they don't have fun!
