New car :D

As I said before, it was quite a nice tidy little car - a decent little alternative to a fiesta for popping to the shops in.

But it ain't a performance car, it's not an enthusiasts car, so I really don't see the point on making it sound like a wet fart in the pursuit of 1.5bhp.

A little fiesta for popping to the shops in, would in my opinion be something on the lines of a 1.25 5 door with a 0-62 of 16 seconds? Where as my car with these mods does 0-62 in around 8 seconds. You can't really put those two cars in the same class... I'm not going to pull a mike and claim my car is in the same league as a jet fighter, but its far from a shopping trolley. :p

Fooled me.

Yes, because building a track car is about being different.

Last time I checked, it wasn't about building the fastest/best/most competent car possible either.

It is about having fun. If you get that in a C2 VTS then crack on :).

Just for the record, before someone runs into this thread wielding a wireless keyboard, takes what joshy just said out of context and proceeds to molest my face with the corner of the Ctrl key, i am in no way implying that fitting an induction kit to my car has transformed it into a track car :D

Surely most track use is competitive?

I am assuming that the car in question (The red one, not Alex's!) is used for track days which are specifically non competitive :).

I suspect its about being deluded.

Into thinking what exactly?

If you're going to get into a "My car is going to be quicker around a track than yours and therefore your car is stupid and pointless" contest, why are we stopping at an Elise? A seven style kitcar with a meaty engine will wipe the floor with one.
