New Car!

It looks really good that low in real life. Shame that its a 1.4 though but at least you like it and that what matters. Best thing to do is get yourself on the pug306 club cause loads of people will be able to help you with your mods and other stuff.

Yeah, I was looking at 1.1i Saxos as they are group 4 insurance and then I seen this - which is also group 4. I've only just turned 18 so I can't be too picky! I'm on pug306.net, which is where I got most of the ideas, there are a few OcUKers on there as far as i'm aware :p

overpriced but then again its a dealer. good choice of car though. :)

I've been looking allover for a decently priced, nice looking car. Most of the 306's around here are 2k so this wasn't badly priced. Especially when the tax, MOT and service etc are thrown in as well as a warranty incase anything goes pete tong.

To low and those tint/skirts look silly, colour coded bump strips and wheels look nice though :)

Yeah, I agree. It won't be going that low and I won't be putting skirts on it :D

Wheels that big will be a complete PITA.

My brother recently got an old Bravo for parts, it had smoothed tailgate as well as some other panels, and effin huge wheels. The handling was just a complete joke, it was nye on undrivable.

Don't go past the largest size Pug fitted.

What?

The Cyclones on the lowered one are Pug 306 standard ones.

if your on pug306.net im shocked you couldn't find cheaper! or did you only want to buy from a dealer?

I'm surprised he couldn't find cheaper anyway, there are loads of 306s for well below £1k. I guess the 1.4 has the 'new driver' tax though.

whys that then? essentially its the same league :p

Right, I will try and justify it, fairly hopeless...

Errmmm its lowered to make it easier to get in and out of the back when your camping ;)

lowered to improve handling (lol)
alloys - same as above

But seriously, besides anything else I much prefer how it looks now than as standard, and although I haven’t driven one that hasn’t been lowered, I can imagine it would improve the handling, but it definitely doesn’t improve the ride... which is hard... and bumpy as hell :D . But that’s how it was when i bought it, I don’t think I would have bothered doing it myself if it hadn’t already been done

And to the op, you could probably pimp your 306 up fairly cheaply... but really you might as well keep the money and spend it on something more useful, ie. put it towards a service to make it last longer before you can upgrade to something better, or the repairs it may well end up needing :)

You say insurance and being 18 was a reason for getting a 1.4 yet do you realise as soon as you lower it, add tints or do any sort of 'real' modding your insurance will go even more mental than it currently is.

the reason the pictured one looks like it has big wheels is because he's left 55 profile tyres on it. When most people lower 306's they switch to 50 profile tyres thus bringing it back into proportion with the wheel arches, heres mine on 50 profiles

blatant pimping etc

roughly 50mm all round. Its on Spax gas shocks and Avo springs, the back is a touch lower than it looks on the pictures but it had rolled backwards onto the handbrake

Did you get the springs and shocks online? If so, do you have a link please?

Are you going to declare these mods to your insurer? If so, you may as well have gotten the 1.8 or 2.0 engined cars and left them standard to be honest.

Why are you trying to turn a Phase 2 into a Phase 3? :p

And leave those nasty tints off the back if your going to mess at all.

Just spray the hub caps grey, spray the bumpers, put something heavy in the boot. Hey presto... you have yourself a ***** 306 'pimped'

I'm not entirely sure what your purpose in this thread is apart from to troll. You have a lowered van with alloys on, you really cannot say **** :)
