Hey, first off, I'm new here so hello to everyone.

So I'm wanting a new gaming computer for my 20th just using some of the money I get from my birthday along with my savings. Not sure right now as to what to go for. Will be buying everything from overclockers.

Heres what I have, feel free to make amendments:

Total : £3,173.69 (includes shipping : £22.20).

Have I missed anything important? Not sure what headset I'll be needing as of yet but leaning towards PC 350's.

To explain my choices in SSD's - Small one for windows/key programs, big SSD for games. And I'm gonna use my HD from this computer for junk (Music/Movies/Silly files and what not).

As for water cooling, its new to me - How does it all work ?

This Rig wont be set up for another month, like I said, Birthday present kind of, so wont have it till end of October.

Any help is most appreciated,

Gerard

::EDIT::

Heard theres some new Graphics cards coming out on the market soon, so the 780's arent set in stone. Wanna see if there is gonna be better options available :)

It's a bit unbalanced and I think the money could better spent. That rad will not fit in the case, and if you are only looking to WC the CPU, it's an expensive way of going it. PSU is not great, Seasonic, Antec, Corsair, XFX and a few others would be a much better investment.

3K is over the top, you could get a seriously nice setup for £2.2-2.5k and my recommendation would be despite it being over a month away:

There are some changes you could make like the graphics cards; although at the current price they are a steel, they are 3 slots wide so you'd loose your soundcard unless you went external.

Not sure what motherboard you selected from the bundle initially, so selected the Orange setup, but if you give us a colour, we can spec to that.

The Corsair SP120's are to replace the H100i fans, the others are for the case.

I went with the 7970's as the price vs performance currently is better than anything else on the market at the moment.

What you think?

I actually really like snips spec. :D

The Matrix's will be insane. :D

Though with that motherboard not ideal..

As you'd need to use slot 1 and 3.. and then the second card will be pretty near the floor. Hmmmm..

I know, but at that price, you would be insane to not grab a pair. However, if he is looking to WC, it'll be fine anyhow.

Sorry for the slow reply.

I want my Processor OC (I dont know what WC means:confused:) and I have no idea how to do that myself so was just gonna buy it OC'ed.

I also heard 780's are like the best card out, is there no way I could buy that and have a soundcard? Or did you mean I couldnt run a soundcard with Dual 7970's? As I want a soundcard for my new Headset but dont wanna run external.

I also like the idea of having 2 SSD's ( The really big one and one really small one ) as I already have a HD that I would take from this computer for everything else that can be classed as junk :)

Colour Scheme? I guess I would like a Black Case but can go for a Gun Metal or perhaps even a white one if the case looks okay in design. Also like the idea of Blue LED (Got blue in this current setup but not enough of it!:p)

Though feel free to change the lighting colour around as you may change my mind! :)

WC is water cooling

They are fantastic cards, but they come with a premium. This does not make them good value for money. If that's not an issue, then go for them, but the current price of the 7970's make them a superb alternative.

Why have a big & small when you can fit in 2x256gb SSD's in your budget?

The NZXT Hue will allow you to change the colour of the LED's which come with it. You get 2 meters of LED cable with a variety of colours. The theme was more to create a build with a colour theme. If you wanted Blue throughout, we'd spec one.

Overclocking the Haswell (sandy/ivy's) is easy..Well worth saving the money and getting better all around components, espcially as you had a watercooling kit in your spec..

WC means watercooling (short-hand). :)

From your spec, you'd have to assemble the water cooling kit anyway..

Snips spec uses a CLC/AIO (closed loop cooler/All in one) which is easier to setup and use..

The 780's are one of the best single cards out, but value wise the 770's 7970's are much better. As the spec above proves you can get 2 x 7970's (Matrix is the top of the range too) for the same price as 1 x 780. " x 7970s will massively outperform 1 x 780.

You can fit a PCI sound card above the second GPU in the PCI slot of the motherboard.

I don't really see why, games don't run much quicker from SSD's not worth spending that amount. 2 x 250GB SSD's will be fine for all programs you use and some games too.. Also if you RAID0 them, will be much quicker than a single drive. :)

Black(white/grey) and Blue then? :)

Okay so I should get a CPU Cooler and WC for overclocking?

Dual 7970's is greater than just one Gtx 780? Just I'm wanting this computer to last me a solid 4/5 years atleast before I even have to think about upgrading a single piece so wanting to range stuff.

Ehm, I don't know, Just put together some themes for me then, Not to bothered :D

I see what your getting at for the SSDs, but why limit yourself with the potential too have not enough space when you could have ample with2x250/256gb SSDs?
